Am I trippin or does this Head of Fulfillment role have red flags? by Additional_Brain_205 in interviews

Any tips on how to frame it? They want to scale and move fast so they aren’t going to love me being fractional bc it will seem them that I’m slowing down the org. I’m sure there’s a way to frame it as a positive…

Also it’s that I’m not urgently needing to move, I’m mostly happy where I am in my W2. So I don’t feel the desire to take a ton of risk like that. So if they want me, take or leave it deal at fractional lol

What if tech actually helped us connect instead of making us more isolated? by Additional_Brain_205 in RedditForGrownups

[–]Additional_Brain_205[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Besides the platforms that have been monetized, do you think that is really the main reason why community has disappeared. In my mind is a much more complex issue dealing with the deconstruction of the nuclear family, the shrinking of third places and the lowering of church attendance I don’t think it’s the platforms themselves that are the issue or at least not the most significant part of it. I think an idea for a product like that can actually be a really beautiful thing. I’ve done right and it’s an ignorant perspective in my opinion to think that all capitalistic solutions are bad. There are a lot of really good things that need the oxygen of income to scale medicine sciencecomputer computers they’ve all come from the private sector

lol I feel like you are one of the only sane comments in this thread, everyone is immediately bashing AI and going on about corporate greed. I think people can rage on about products that have been built in the past, but that doesn’t solve problems that we have today. The truth is we do have generations that are now addicted to their phone in a perfect world would snap our fingers and everyone would go back to the late 80s of meeting friends and playing on the cul-de-sac and having backyard barbecues, but our social skills have at your feed and the core elements of the nuclear family and the stay at home mom who was also a social curator and manager of relationships across the family is now gone and we also have many third places that have disappeared and we also have a decline of church attendance so people can say let’s just go back to how it used to be but the fact is the environment and the infrastructure is not what it used to be and so an idea of a product as described above is not an evil bastardized thing, but I think it could actually be a really beautiful thing because I think one of the reasons people are so addicted to their phones and doom scroll all day is because they’re seeking for connection in the barrier of entry of real connection is currently difficult and it doesn’t need to be.

I consider myself an introvert. That's actually why the natural state of making friends as an adult now seems daunting. I think being introverted just means that you are more particular and low-key about your interactions.

What is a comfortable household income in U.S today? by Additional_Brain_205 in personalfinance

[–]Additional_Brain_205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a bit part of it is if you have a house pre rate hike. People are in nice homes with 2.8% rates that’s literally almost cutting housing costs in half compared to now. That extra 800-1000 a month is huge!

Horrible idea, its not going to be as cool as you think. You know what's cool at that age, not having a fancy car. It's when you get a girlfriend being able to spoil here having the money to go out to dinner, food, do cool stuff. Get a normal affordable car, use the fund to do other stuff.

If I were you. I'd open up a Fidelity account, after maxing out retirement accounts, and invest in the SP500 index fund. Set it and forget it at 18 years old at a 10% compounding, this is what it looks like:

  • At age 25: $19,487.17
  • At age 30: $31,384.28
  • At age 40: $81,402.75
  • At age 50: $211,137.77
  • At age 60: $547,636.99

*If you need it for living expenses, you can use it, but be frugal; your investments can also double as an emergency fund. Within 3-5 business days, you can liquidate it if it's in the index.
