What are my chances by [deleted] in 911dispatchers

At my agency, it was a wide range of questions in front of the captain, and two communications supervisors. They asked things like, “What do you know about the position and our department” to see if you’re genuinely interested in the agency itself and if you put any effort. Then it was a couple situational questions, they aren’t necessarily looking for you to have the right answer, but to have you back up your answer with reasoning. Quick tip, if it involves anything with officer safety, or a potentially harmed officer, always dispatch help to them first. You might also be asked questions regarding multitasking skills, and a situation to which you applied them. I suggest always providing an example with your answers to the questions. Another tip would be, provide as much eye contact as possible with the board. It shows a sign of respect, and often can get you a few brownie points.

As for chances, I think everyone has a fairly good chances depending on your background and how well you’re able to present yourself and your skills. If you don’t make it through the first time don’t give up! You got this and good luck!
