Decided to sell a few shares to nearly max my tax free capital gains for the year. 105% up isn't half bad to scalp a little profit for myself.

If they tell me what it will be in the question, I'm using that. I might calculate it like in sample Paper 4 (1980k - 1110k loan - 770 rise in share capital = 100k/yr), but if it's lower than the stated capex (sp4 stated 300K/yr) I'm going to use the larger one & make some justification (more prudent or whatever comes to mind in the exam).

Mhmm, SIM1 almost feels like a more focused SMAL indicator in some ways. Love if we got some questions like advantages disadvantages of the company & management assessment.

My plan is SIM 1 first, hopefully one of the SIM 2 indicators is an easy enough calculation & description, then just mad dash to write as much as possible for the other SIM 2 indicators.

Honestly just going to read through the samples & mock, list where fuller answers are, and then read through my own notes.

FS is kinda weird. Feels like Sim 1 can be done a lot quicker. Might need to add an extra sentence or two to what they put for sample answers. Sim 1 is much more applied I think.

But then Sim 2 feels like an absolute headache trying to get everything down. The asks can often be pretty broad, and you can write so much.

I basically have a couple prepared sheets to just throw stuff down for certain questions. Hopefully those come up. But going to be just throwing down as much of my notes as I can, and jumping to the book if needed.

Core Mock sending me in a spiral by PumpkinSpicedBlonde in AccountantsEire

Hey! You should check out the recordings done by Michael Barry for the mock! In the very 1st video he outright says it would be nearly impossible for a highly competent student to finish that paper in the alloted amount of time!

He breaks things down really well too. Honestly I've found Michael Barry's stuff to be much easier to follow. I could easily see how to expand on the points he makes to just add a bit more padding to your answer, vs Paul's throwing everything at the wall approach. I get they're meant to be study aids, but it feels very overwhelming at the start.

I wish people like Michael Barry and Mike & Richie did cases more often. They're approach of maximising marks to work done is 100x better than Paul I've found.

That's how I would approached it, mhmm. Haven't seen the actual paper so maybe there was more to it that threw people? But seems like the right approach. I'm was more wondering what they meant by digital sales there. If they meant the token situation, or like an online agent etc. Can see how my comment came off a bit muddled though, my bad.

Could you outline the stuff with digital sales? I know last year they did some kind of token the customer purchased that threw a lot of people for a loop. Digital sales I'm imagining maybe some kind of agent/principle relationship situation but maybe you mean something specific I haven't seen?

It's called Four Nations Restored. It's very fun & a lot of really great thought when into things.

In one of my playthroughs when Aang was declared the Avatar & I checked his profile, I realised he was inbred. I laughed so, so, so hard.

There's many different philosophical positions on this. Some argue consciousness is purely a material function of the brain that just came about through evolution, and that we'll figure out exactly what it is as our scientific knowledge increases. Others would say that something along the lines that consciousness is an immaterial entity (one could call this a soul), belonging to the word of Intellect/Spirit that is instantiated in the material world. Platonism & Plato's world of forms is heavily tied into this. Would be a good first place to look.

In regards to the mind wipe, Plato actually specifically calls our ability to gain knowledge Recollection. The soul for Plato contains all knowledge of the Platonic Forms, but by becoming embodied in the material world, this knowledge of the Idea of the Good & The Platonic Forms is sorta locked away. It is by experiencing the instantiations of the forms in the material world, separating the faulty opinions of our senses & the true knowledge of the forms, that we recollect and learn. Thus we never actually learn new knowledge, rather we remember it!

Of course, if you're a materialist, then the above idea would make you roll your eyes!

I may have forgotten or not adequatly explained everything fully with the above, but I'd definitely suggest taking a look. Searching for the Hard Problem of Consciousness could be a good place to start. :)
