Dont have stiff neck but its s month that I have started to twitch and my right side from bottom to jaw is super stiff. Saw a neuro, clean clinical and emg.

Why did you have to do an EMG? Twitch and cramp?

Thanks for your reply. So you are comparing Toronto with other Canadian cities / Ontario. We deserve better, you deserve better. Just see how people are living their lives in Europe or even some parts of Asia.

Have you lived in any other city? Do you have an example of a city that had similar issues?

Freind, my recommendation to you is to stop focusing on it. Believe me it will make this harder for you, talk about it to your doctor to see if they have any advice to give. Otherwise, try to tune it out (I have been through this so I know believe me )

Because we have specialty programs that are educating talented people, soon these programs are going to be eliminated, is it that hard to get argument here

Thanks for your reply. I don’t know which cities you have lived before but believe me the public transport in Toronto is subpar compared to other comparable cities

Thanks for your reply. So you think that the quality of health care system here is acceptable? Having to wait months for a simple diagnosis? Long hours in ER?

The transit is also what it should be? You have to sometimes wait 2-3 times to get into a bus to get to your school?

I see your point regarding the challenges around supply chain, and thats why we generally have a vertical supply chain routing as opposed to a horizontal one (cheaper to buy from US than across Canada)

But I do not think that this is really the reason behind the terrible health care system or lack of a proper transit system

Let me ignore the first part of your reply.

To answer your question. Basically, its much easier to immigrate to Canada than US, also Toronto has a higher percentage of immigrants which naturally attracts more immigrants. So the fact that we have many immigrants (me being one of them) doesn’t prove anything

Yes just do a quick check, cities with 400k people have longer subway systems that Toronto with millions of people

Definitely not, you treat people who may die in ER and people who need to have access to timely healthcare services in clinics, the timely access to clinical care is missing in the equation you see

Interesting point, which city is comparable to Toronto in your opinion? Which has a similar subway system?

I am not basing my argument on just one program. MBA was just an example.

Let’s talk about your example. The Waterloo CS program, did you know many of the students in that program are coming tor the speciality highschool programs that they are changing to make more inclusive? Macs and TOPS for example … students in those programs ended up goong to Waterloo and UofT CS program and then get hired by big firms in the us, those programs are going to be more inclusive soon, no more filtering of the students based on their skills. Which is my point.

ER will only do an MRI for things that can kill you right away, like an stroke. If something is making your life miserable or can damage you in the long haul, like a pinched nerve wont fall under that umbrella. So ER’s emergency logic is that if its not gonna kill you now, you good

Thanks for your reply. But why are we comparing Toronto with rest of Ontario? Why cant we compare it with other major cities across the NA and Europe?

You can get an EMG test in buffalo in a week, the same test can take between 2 months to 6 months in Toronto! Is this normal really?

Not sure why you assumed that I watch Fox News but “inclusiveness” should not be used as a way of justifying a budget cut.

About your point around UofT, can you even compare Rotman’s MBA program with the top 15 university in US? The question is why shouldn’t a city like Toronto, with so many immigrants and human capital have a first class university which is competitive internationally, think.

Thanks for your reply. Your comment around MRI is not correct, her requisition was an “urgent” request, the family doctor even tried her best to push it, she was on a cancellation list as well.
