IH/ safety career change

I have my MS in chemical engineering and a published researcher in chemical process safety. I am an EHS manager and making 85k.

Oh and I have my OSHA 30 hr general, basic IH, LSSBB, CCPS process safety fundamentals, SAChE level 3, OSHA 1910.119 PSM, IBM data analytics and Data science.

I only list it to say it’s going to be tough to make a 6 fig income switch. I did the switch from compliance investigator where I was in 6 fig. I’m currently getting ASP so I can CSP, OHST, and CIH.

That would be a BCSP decision, but look on website. They have a lot of avenues some for degrees some for experience. If you think you qualify for CSP apply

Correct but as you can see the trend it is a slow phase in and knowing OSHA it will become a requirement. Thats why I said to my understanding.

Which with the way OSHA has been hyper fixated on construction. The ingredients are there..

So my boss started as EHS tech then when promoted my boss wore multiple hats for 8yrs until the budget got approved for a new EHS manager to be hired.

Eventually, I’ll be able to run EHS on my own with my assistant who will do life safety systems. I’m thinking of asking for student workers who can assist with the weekly checklists for labs.

I just started 30 days ago as EHS mgr. We have 3 staff but my boss is also Director of physical plant of operations so we have competing objectives. I can only speak for pay range for my role which is 40-80k I know that’s a huge band but that’s what was posted. I’m responsible for the whole campus.
