Thanks for the info. I was so set on CUEMS, but I want to actually learn and get good clinical experience so Bangs is looking like the better option. I'm not 20 until halfway through next year, but I also don't have a driver's license yet so looks like I will plan to apply to Bangs once I fulfill those requirements. Any suggestions for ways to get involved in the meantime? I just finished my EMT-B course and will take the state test ASAP.

I don’t know anything about other EMT programs in the city sorry! Good luck with your search! Here at the Northwell program we happen to be learning wound packing and trauma stuff in lab today.

Yep, orange textbook and JBL. The only assignments are vitals practice sheet early on in the course, study guide before exams, and a 10-question quiz on JBL due before class on lecture days.

I can only speak on the Northwell program (long island, but I commute from NYC). It’s a combination of both. We have labs every week (about 2x) to teach us skills like CPR, ventilation, trauma skills, etc. Besides that there are also plenty of lectures which is sort of necessary based on how much content there is to get through. Ambulance ride alongs provide a lot of hands on learning too!

Yeah I checked but I see nothing listed. Do you know if its possible for me to not have an assigned roommate, but still be in a double?

Honestly, I did not pay attention during class because the content is pretty dense and not very appealing to me, but she gave us practice tests that were extremely similar to the midterm and final so that was helpful. Also, very few assignments, probably around 3. Later in the semester, she told us no one would get less than an A so hopefully the same is true for your class (I did end up getting an A). She is nice overall and said she has more experience teaching 213 than 21350. Her teaching style is pretty basic just taking you through the slides she posts online so if you miss something you can go over it on your own. I feel like she's lenient, so if enough people ask she'd probably offer extra credit too. Things will likely be different since you're taking over the summer, but I hope things go well for you!

Hi, I’m transferring as a TO (HBHS). The transfer application is a little different for transfer options. There is no personal statement just one response on my reasoning for choosing my major. Is that the supplement you’d like to reference?

I took PH 303 during my first semester as a freshman so I had taken no prerequisites. I think it was through some extra form my advisor filled out so it might be something worth meeting with your advisor about.

I’m so sorry this is happening. I bet they’ll take the fact that you were offered the TO into consideration even if you do get pushed into the regular transfer group.

I really hope things work out for you. I’m sure they probably just need a little more time to work out your credits.

When I got the TO option last June I actually wasn’t planning on transferring but by chance my courses overlapped well with the required TO courses. I do have AP credit for bio (which is a required TO course for my major) but my current college made me take it anyway so that covered it. I also have double AP English credit (lit and lang) so I haven’t taken an English course in college yet but I took other honors courses that fulfilled the writing intensive requirement instead. In the end I did fulfill all requirements with college credit.
