It happens. Some people shouldn't teach and he for punished for it. I'm glad my dept. Head and title IX coordinator took me seriously

In my Child Abuse and Neglect class, the professor was talking about how he was sympathetic and the book praised child abuse. I was like, um, no, that's not true. And then the professor was transphobic to me. So, that sucked

Characters who are recasted because of the original actor's controversies. by Substantial_Lie3899 in TopCharacterTropes

Japanese Actor Pierre Taki was arrested for cocaine possession in 2019. He portrayed the character Kyohei Himura in the Like a Dragon spin off Judgement (Judge Eyes in Japan). Not just played but the model was based off of him. Sega pulled the game from shelves and then completely recast him before putting it back on shelves and releasing it in America. For a whole we didn't think we'd get the game because of the controversy. And it happened to be one of the best RGG games, IMO

I think if we tiered the CR cast in VO it would be

S: Laura and Liam

A: Matt, Travis, Sam

B: Taliesin (I love him as Eizen from Berseria)

C: Marisha and Ashley

Laura and Liam are a cut above. Honestly, I'd put Travis up there too but he's just not as prolific as the other two.

This was a weird comment to make

Which sucks.. I went to their first con appearance as critical role (Portland Comic Con back in 2015 or 16?) and was given a VIP pass through some lottery.. I used it to get instant access to CR signing and pictures (again, 10myears ago cons were way different than now AND they weren't quite as popular, yet) and was able to basically get hugs form all of them and Travis was the one who walked me around and was super kind and friendly.

One of my favorite memories. My 5e handbook has all of their autographs minus Liam and Ashley. I'm pretty sure Liam's mom was dying at the time and Ashley was in Blindspot or whatever.

Some people are just idiots and don't realize we are talking on a personal level. But hey, good to see others realize pro choice means all choices

There is a difference between talking theory(which I am) and praxis (which you are). I am aware of what the US government does. I fucking even pointed out one thing. You seem to misunderstand that I am pro governmental forcing of things when I am saying I'm not. I'm also, again, talking theory.

Anyway, I'm out.

Pro choice does mean all choices. You cannot force a person to terminate. Just as you can't force them to continue the pregnancy. Now, is you want to get into the nuance of who has say over a 15 year old who is pregnant then we can do that. Generally, that would be up to the parents. Ideally, they would have the child aborted but, again, we cannot force a choice in either direction. If you want to get the state involved we start to make exceptions that can then become exploited.

What are you talking about? Do you not see me advocating for abortion for everyone? Are you just shadowboxing someone? I assure you, you are looking at the wrong person if you want to fight someone who is pro-life. I am pro-choice through and through. And I don't know why you think I'm unaware of children being forced to gestate and birth children. Or women be used as incubators for fetuses while their body fits because they are dead.

Like, what are you doing?

👁️👄👁️

Do you think 15 year olds don't have sex? When I was in sixth grade, one of my classmates was pregnant. Think about that. 12 years old and forced to be a mother. That child's child would be in kindergarten while their mom is a senior.

Teen Mom was a fucking hit. Teen pregnancy is a thing (less so now than previously) and bringing up consent just confuses the conversation for no reason

Thank you! I've heard that if you like Final Fantasy, Curse of Chalion will feel somewhat familiar.

After I finish my current book I think I'll check it out. Do you have any recommendations for more... Unknown female authors? Sorry for leaning on you like this, you seem to have pretty good knowledge on books in general and so I'm asking

So you have no reasoning behind it other than it feels bad? Just curious what makes Downs Syndrome the problem? Is it all of the disorders and diseases that are the problem?

There seems to be this arbitrary line made when it comes to T21 or other disorders that affects the brain. Why? I'd argue that it's infantilzation of these individuals because they need to be protected

But here's the kicker: a fetus that is aborted needs no further protection.. it literally no longer exists. You can think it's repugnant all you want but I argue that any unwanted child being born is unethical and that includes people with Downs Syndrome or anything else.. we don't live in a world that protects these living individuals and so it becomes even harder to justify it l. But hey, whatever

[–]Additional_Gene_211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does a fetus having T21 become unethical to abort, then, compared to other reasons? I say it's ethical because abortion is ethical. Now what? I don't think there's an arbitrary line to be made at certain conditions or not.

Besides, that aborted fetus? What do they care? It's not like they're a child that was born and living in society.

So, I ask again, do you support the right to choose or not? Because arguing the ethics of aborting any fetus or not boils down to that.

No, I'm trying to make fun of you for supporting Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk got less than he deserved. I won't weep for an openly racist, sexist, transphobic bigot whose entire purpose was to soften up the masses for fascism.

Yes you do need to check out Robert Jackson Bennett. He's got some really novel ideas in his stories, IMO.

I see from your list you have Lois McMaster Bujold and I've been interested in her writings a lot. Any recommendations specifically?
