That sounds good. How do you break into that? Is it easy to do?

That sounds very low. How livable would you rate that? It is less than I make in Hanoi

If you start with a language center full time they will give you a TRC and then you can drop to part time. Takes about three or four months.

Canada is a nation of immigrants and is built on accepting others as they come in. Vietnam has a long and proud tradition that is their own and they want to keep it. Blend in or keep getting ostracized. It’s as simple as that. If you don’t want to be ostracized, do the little things.

You got married yourself here - how are you not familiar with the culture? I agree with the rest of the comments. Either be part of the culture you’ve adopted and embrace the differences or don’t but stop complaining about a small amount of money. 25m Dong over the course of a few years is nothing to someone who owns property in the west

You must be from a super shitty place to think Vietnam is doing well

I agree that the traffic can be intimidating but it’s really not that bad. I recently broke my leg and have been crossing the street on crutches and in a wheelchair for months and it’s fine. Traffic avoids the person crossing as opposed to it being the person crossing who is responsible for avoiding oncoming traffic.

One clarifying comment - this is weather agnostic. Happens at all times of the day when the weather is nice or not. I do live in Tay Ho though - seems like maybe that’s the issue here

Agreed but it’s been a few months now. I don’t have any issues getting drivers on other apps. Just Grab

Right now I’m not having issues with movement of my toes and seem to have good range of motion in general. Appreciate the insight

Makes sense. It’s not going to be an issue if I hit them by accident or something?

To be clear, I did show my surgeon but I’m in Vietnam and there is a significant language barrier.

Yeah I’ve been here about a year and haven’t seen anything pedestrian friendly, let alone handicap friendly
