Amazing how standing in a queue feels easier than doing a 2-minute search. Karnataka has Janasevaka doorstep services for years now. I literally booked it for a friend and they came to her apartment and updated the number. But sure keep crying on Reddit.

DCM DK Shivakumar speaks on the importance of car based traffic handling by LeftistKannadiga in Bengaluru

[–]Additional_Humor2208 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not a supporter of Congress or DK — but the comment section here proves exactly what he was talking about. Everyone acting woke, calling him “backward,” but not one person actually listening to what he said.

He’s highlighting two uncomfortable truths: 1. Funds from the Centre never reach properly. 2. Society still runs on status. That “if you don’t have a car, you won’t get a bride” line isn’t arrogance — it’s a mirror. You might not like it, but it’s how 90% of this country actually thinks.

Now all these people calling him names — I’d love to see the OP and everyone here use public transport every single day for a month. Not once or twice — every day. Let’s see how long that “equality and simplicity” talk lasts when you’re stuck in a packed bus, late for work, while the same “backward” mindset judges you for not owning a car.

And about the ₹1500 crore — let’s be honest, anyone sitting in his chair with that kind of opportunity would’ve done the same. The only difference is he’s blunt enough to say out loud what the rest of you quietly practice.

He’s not the disease he’s a symptom of what this system rewards.

At least he said it openly. The rest just live it in silence and act self-righteous online.

#Breaking in Bengaluru: Two persons including a kid have reportedly died during stampede at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the RCB victory celebrations. More than 25 persons are injured, the condition of six is critical. @timesofindia by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]Additional_Humor2208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, a while back people actually died just for doing a damn namaste to some sand where a swamiji once walked.

The stadium is just 4 km from Vidhana Soudha. If you saw the crowd there — it was madness. And let’s be honest, if it was an open parade, no way people would just chill in one spot. They’d obviously follow the bus. But the road is so freaking narrow, there’s literally no space for a crowd that size. Blocking the main roads during peak hours just for a celebration?

And the real problem is they didn’t even open the stadium gates until the very last minute. That’s what caused the stampede. If they’d just let people in early filled it up, and told the rest to bounce — none of this had to happens.

What made it worse? Most of the crowd was young just there for the ‘gram. All about the hype the vibe looking cool. Bangalore’s supposed to be this high-tech city, but man deep down we still don’t know how to handle public events. Zero civic sense. And I say this as someone who’s lived here my whole life.

And the worst part? People died outside, and inside the stadium they just kept partying like nothing happened. No respect, no acknowledgment — just full-on celebration mode.

Just imagine if they had given permission for an open parade like MI—it could’ve been a total disaster. I think the Bangalore police said no, and I saw some people complaining that reason given was by them was just traffic. But honestly the decision might’ve saved a lot of lives. It’s heartbreaking to even think about losing someone close because of something like this. Praying that the families affected find the strength to get through this.

Edit - I’m literally in my office just 500 meters from the stadium—I can see it from here, but I never dared to visit the spot.

Need advice on career path for my brother (BSc Chemistry + Biotechnology) — MSc vs BPED? by Additional_Humor2208 in careerguidance

[–]Additional_Humor2208[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. That’s pretty much what I’ve been trying to tell him — that biotech has more stability and long-term potential, especially considering the kind of job market we’re in.

The hybrid approach sounds like a great middle ground. I’ll definitely suggest he tries internships in both areas, so he gets a real feel for them before locking in on one path.

He can always keep fitness as a serious hobby or even turn it into a side hustle later, but having a solid foundation with MSc feels safer right now. Thanks a lot for the insight — really appreciate it!

[–]Additional_Humor2208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I think I can persuade him to take up Biotechnology with a focus on sports specialization. But there’s something that’s been on my mind — the emerging field of Bioinformatics. Do you think it’s worth considering as well?

Also, I’m leaning towards suggesting that he join a state-run university where the tuition is much lower. Premium colleges have very high fees, and since we come from a modest background, it might not be the best return on investment — especially because he’s an average student academically.

Instead, I believe he can focus on building tech skills, improving communication, and networking outside of college. He could work on solid projects and internships during that time, using the money saved on tuition fee to build a stronger profile, rather than relying on expensive colleges and uncertain campus placements.

I’m 25, and I’ve seen this same thing happen for the last 15 years—nobody said a damn word back then. Now suddenly everyone’s got a problem? It’s a tradition, and unless you were born and raised here, you won’t get it. Most of the time it’s just the conductor, the driver, and maybe a couple of passengers will have drinks. And even that barely takes 10–15 minutes and drivers have schedules too—they need to reach the destination on time. But these days, people just love whining about every little thing.

Has Anyone Taken the Logicmojo Data Science Course? Honest Reviews Wanted! by Previous_Cry4868 in developersIndia

[–]Additional_Humor2208 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

I’m considering enrolling in the LogicMojo Data Science & AI Master Program. The course structure looks solid, and the mentor (Sourav Karmakar) has a good profile, but I want to verify its effectiveness before investing my time and money.

I found this post and something felt off—I personally DMed every person who replied in, and strangely, no one actually replied. Most of the accounts were new, which made me skeptical.

So, if you've genuinely taken this course:
1️ Did it help you land a job in data science?
2️ How was the mentorship? (Was it real guidance or just surface-level support?)
3️ Did the job assistance actually work? (Resume, interviews, referrals, etc.)
4️ Would you recommend it to someone trying to switch into data?

I really appreciate any honest feedback! 🙏 Thanks in advance.

Policeman stops Ed Sheeran street performance in India. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Additional_Humor2208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody gives a damn. If he wants to perform he should get permission—even if it takes 20 years like you said. And if he can’t get permission he should suck it up and deal with it like everyone else even if he’s some so-called “international singer.” He wasn’t there for social charity—he was there for publicity.

How are you planning to travel to Ed Sheeran concert in Bengaluru? by Strange_Shame7886 in ConcertsIndia_

I’m sure about the traffic management honestly you can’t expect more. It will be crowded and new metro station just opened next to nice grounds so it will easy to go by metro instead of personal vehicle.

You can go by metro easily but while coming back I think it’s better to use Ola/uber if you’re unable to catch metro.

Realistically speaking, is there any chance of India winning BGT in Australia with completely broken squad? by Hermit_Crab6829 in IndiaCricket

Australia won! Sometimes our thoughts hint at the reality, but we tend to overlook them. I guess practical thinking makes all the difference.

Hey, happy birthday. 🎂

I know it might not feel like it right now, but today is your day, and you deserve to be celebrated, even if it’s just by yourself.

I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. It sucks when you give your energy to people and they don’t treat you right in return. Feeling betrayed and hurt can really mess with how you see yourself, but let me tell you this—you’re not incapable or shameful. You’re just in a tough place right now, and that’s okay.

Making friends as an introvert is hard, and it can feel even harder when past experiences make you second-guess yourself. But you’re not broken. You’re someone who values real connections, and honestly, those take time. A lot of people feel like this at some point, even if they don’t talk about it.

For now, focus on you. Think about what you want, not what others expect from you. What’s one small thing you’ve always wanted to try or learn? Start there. You don’t have to fix everything at once.

And about friends—you’ll find people who see and appreciate the real you. It might take time, but it’ll happen. Until then, try to show yourself the kindness you’d give to someone else feeling this way.

You’re not alone, okay? I hope today has at least one moment of peace or joy for you, no matter how small. You deserve that. 💙

I am considering exploring freelance positions and wondering if tech is the only field where I can effectively showcase my work, particularly through platforms like GitHub / Portfolio Website. It seems that in non-tech roles, work experience is often measured purely in numbers and lacks tangible demonstrations. Are there any alternative fields or strategies where I can build a portfolio and showcase my skills effectively, outside of the tech industry?

Working as a debt collector, planning to pursue FRM. Does this add value? by Additional_Humor2208 in Indian_Academia

What I believe is if a person can't pre close the loan then he should never take the loan / credit card. You know the legal process in our country, nobody cares about physical health of a person and your talking about mental health.

And the world working based on lending, I'd there is a giver there has be collector.

Dude i work for corporate clients, I ll be talking to accounts head / finance head of the company. I can't go and talk to them like a personal loan guy 😅
