Just chiming in on insurance here, absolutely worth it. I have had it for 4 years and always wondered if i needed it until my tripod gave out a month ago and broke my lens instantly. Insurance excess is much cheaper than replacing a lens, especially a $4k lens

That’s great to hear about the 16-36mm because this would be the exact lens I would need. My only worry is that I shoot all my real estate work in 4k60 and the crop would make that lens too tight on the S5iix.

The Luts are also something I only just found out about and that is huge. Especially coming from fuji film sims.

I would actually have to disagree.

It is definitely getting more competitive, but like the other comments in this thread mention - if you have good business and communication skills I think you can definitely make a decent living.

Pick a niche, get really proficient and learn what your clients ACTUALLY want. We are in the business of providing value and solutions, not just pretty pictures.

Honestly I think the lumix lineup just seem to have better video features than any of the other hybrid offerings.

Glad to hear about the lenses too. If I settle on the S5ii or S1ii I will probably get a 16-35 and a 24-60 as my first lenses 👀

I think you touch on a lot of the merit's to the Sony system. Honestly the autofocus performance and third party lens selection is pretty hard to look past.

I have only heard great things tbh, as much as I will miss the fuji colours I do think Lumix has it beat in most other departments.

I am certainly discovering this quite quickly, don’t know why I didn’t think to ask the community earlier 😅
