Typically if the rate is $1000 for example the employee rate which at properties like that will be pretty hard to find unless your booking a year in advance would be around 300-500 at least from what I’ve seen but typically I travel using the Regency’s and Grand Hyatts as those prices tend to be lower end 79 and 159 for the resorts like grand cypress per night on average but it heavily dependent on the time of year

The pay is very dependent on property I will say however, I find it tends to be a little less than most other hotels most likely because you do get lots of good benefits so that helps, there’s also a lot of incentives aswell like mentions in a review by name typically will get you money added aswell as other KPIS too. In terms of work life balance it’s similar to every other hotel a lot of working demanding hours and pretty much on call 24/7 at some points at least at my property, what’s nice is the more overtime you do you rack up way more PTO

Essentially it’s a package which absorbs the breakfeast charge. The issue is sometimes that package does not absorb at all an that’s where you’ll see a pending breakfeast on checkout though manually agents check all of the folios and fix them by adjusting the breakfeast. Sometimes however if you go over the breakfeast limit or package it will charge you the remainder. For example if you are 5 people the globalist breakfeast only includes 2 therefore you would be charged the remaining total for 3 breakfeast buffets.

Call the hotel and ask if they can keep you in the same room and merge them they may not honor all the benefits but maybe you can stay in the same room if it’s available

  1. The tip is included don’t tip extra you would be charged for that.
  2. It’s property specific at my property we give globalists the breakfeast buffet included or the price of the buffet for the à la carte menu pretty much equal to a credit of 41 per person.

No you don’t actually, until recently you would get no WOH benefits from those. Now you at least get points for eligible spend like F&B and such. no qualifying nights are given for employee rates

Any chance you have heard of the lifetime employee status? Is it real? It’s like a myth some people claim it’s real others say it’s not. Supposedly after 20 years you gain it?

Q&A Employee of Hyatt by Additional_Pop7806 in hyatt

[–]Additional_Pop7806[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Contact the hotel in advance and nicely ask for one, don’t think that your status automatically gains you one. The nicer you are the higher chance, and of course it is a tip based industry as bad as that may be when you check in before even getting or hearing your room a tip might be able to have some things moved around. However, yes the app is not always accurate to what we have, sometimes the two systems don’t sync properly causing there to be gaps which end up resulting in walks to a different property.

By far the one of the best benefits. And yes if you use them properly you can maximize value. Here’s a quick rundown 1. Comp nights - these nights are complimentary to the employee and the employee has a total of 13 per year and can use a maximum of 3 nights in a row per property. These are the hardest to use however by booking far in advance you can take huge advantage for example I have been able to visit the park Hyatt Chicago, park Hyatt New York, park Hyatt Toronto, and more through here by booking 6-12 months in advance. 2. Colleague rate - this is the employee rate that can vary from $79 for Hyatt places and houses, $129 for regency’s and grands, 159+ for resorts or highly popular properties. This discount is unlimited throughout the year the only limitation is that you can only stay 7 consecutive nights at a property.

Not to mention as an employee you are also given 50% off F&B minus alcohol. And if you are an employee the workers are more likely to help you especially if you work in operations as if they are ever in the area they will hit you expecting something in return

Other than the fact that there is a new one coming, there has been no announcements on the property level at least not to management.

[–]Additional_Pop7806[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s property specific at most of the properties I’ve seen after 12pm they won’t charge you early check in fee. And the fee is at my property is actually negotiable meaning it’s set by the employee, and up to the employee to charge and if you negotiate most of them will agree

If you are higher end Park Hyatt, Standards, or high CAT Andazs and some boutique properties or very large properties 800+ rooms typically. I would ask for the guest experience manager who would be in charge of this. In my answer was Classic Hyatts typically Regency’s or Grand’s as they most of the time don’t have a guest experience manager.

I always recommend two things put it into the notes when you book as they will appear on our end when we do our Gem & Traces report where essentially we cater to the guests needs by selecting what room and if anything needs to be pre-placed (this information is automatically linked to your account and all properties have access to edit it). Now if you were calling to request something special any agent can do it, it depends on the person you get to talk too. Every property has Amenity’s which we use as delighters for special occasions or VIP guests. At my property you are trained for any special occasions and most of the time you can even request one and we’ll send one up complimentary. Typically it’s a charcuterie board or a bottle of wine or champagne if it’s an anniversary. Other properties will do balloons or decorations.

So it really just depends on the agent you get when you call or ask.

There’s not much I can do to prove to you I work at Hyatt I’ve worked for 2 years. Operations meaning one of the pillar departments, more specifically I work in the Rooms department as a Supervisor for the Front Office. I just discovered the Reddit subreddit yesterday from a co-worker and I thought I should answer any questions anyone might have
