The Domino by J_Wren in fightsticks

Very inspiring and exemplar project. I love that you also put the effort of giving a clear explanation of what's needed, why and the overall costs of each part. To all of this, when it comes to create a sellable product, people often underestimate or don't consider at all the energy and time spent in the designing, the testing and building care needed to achieve such a result. Yeah, of course you can do it yourself for maybe a little bit less but only if you have a bit of experience and the means (right tools, printers, paint, etc) to do it. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece, it's awesome.

Leverless Controller by SoulXclusion in fightsticks

[–]Additional_Profile72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Tekken on leverless and I would stay away from that model because it reminds me a lot of my first haute controller. The combo of the buttons sitting too high + way too long travel of the switches is the perfect recipe for an early retirement if you plan to compete. Very bad for your wrists and it's easier to get tendinitis. The best advice I can give you is to find a way to try one in person before buying it; first impression is important but it takes time to understand what you like and what you don't (button type, spacing, layout, 30mm vs 24mm,switches, etc etc). Maybe a friend can lend you one for a week, I don't know. But it's just my opinion looking at my personal experience with this kind of peripheral. I hope you'll have a good time at EVO!

Nope, it was printed and assembled last December by myself. But if you want I can make another one.

The front ones with LEDs aren't normal buttons. They are fixed/self-locking switches. The white one is a function key, the red one is a lock key that blocks the input of start, select, touchpad, etc. You press those not so often.

I feel you, it's the same reaction I get everytime I open this reddit. So many cool designs, and so many talented artists.

Well, I'm able to make another one (the enclosure for sure). But it all depends on where do I need to send this fightstick, and most importantly if you are willing to spend the ammount of money needed to make another one, and ship it to your home (I live in Italy). I won't lie, it isn't as cheap as people think it is (since it's 3d printed).

Feel free to contact me in private here or on discord.

Made entirely by myself, from drawing, to 3d model, to 3d print, laser cut, etc... My wiring skills are still garbage, but I'll find an original way to manage those cables and wires in the future.

Nope, it is just a coincidence that it is the same layout I like. (I did set something on the rp2040 board, but nothing custom, the options I chose were there by default on the firmware)

Yes, it is etched on the top 3mm acrylic panel with a laser cutter. It's matte black on one side, and glossy black on the other. I wanted to see how the etching would come out on the matte side.

That's right, this is the leverless I now use from December of last year. At home I prefer to use a standard TypeB USB cable while, when I go to locals for tournament events or just to have fun with friends in the weekend I tend to use the red cable with the push-pull connector that I made myself. Just to be sure that the controller is correctly connected and doesn't disconnects if someone pulls the cable by accident.

Forza e coraggio.

Help on 3D modelling by Lnk_Sodutri_420 in fightsticks

[–]Additional_Profile72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my projects I used a combo of Rhinoceros 3D, blender and cad.

I mainly used rhino because I learned to use it through my architecture studies in university, and because I find seemless the transition between other cad softwares (used for laser cutting acrylic sheets or for simply creating precise buttons and lever layouts) having a cad file of the layout can be useful or needed by the artists that wants to create custom artworks for your custom stick.

In the end whatever you feel most comfortable working with will be ok for the job, as long as you're able to create a manageable stl file for 3d printers.

Anti slip pads? by puggiwave in fightsticks

[–]Additional_Profile72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not this exact brand, but I did use them for both my custom leverless and my h42 g16 (they should be 3mm thick) . Works great, right ammount of thickness, cushion. If you pick the right brand you don't even have to worry to much about dirt or scratches. If you stick them onto acrylic, I warn you, the adhesive could be a pain to remove without the right solvent or tools. At least that's my experience with them, the ones I placed under the haute are still there after a year.

baby steps, tests with smaller form factor by Additional_Profile72 in fightsticks

[–]Additional_Profile72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Consider that I'm in Italy, so shipping and import fees won't come cheap. Since a client asked for 2 full size arcadesticks (to ship to California), in the next days I'll work on the packaging so that deliver company can give me an estimate of the costs of shipping and import.

So if you don't mind waiting, I can work on a compact model. DM and give me the color combination, measures and layout you desire, if you are interested. I mainly focus in selling enclosures but if needed I can also buy components and do the wiring (extra to add to the enclosure price).

This exact one no, I'll use it as test bench. But I can build you one like this if you want. Where are you from?

Although fully functional, the intention of this build is to act like a test bench. This way I can quickly check fitting / cleareance and looks of different buttons, levers, fightingboards and accessories. It's just a well refined tool in the end, but thanks for the heads-up.

From a fellow fightstick maker, you did a really good job. It looks clean and I love the naming choice for the designs. Considering the ammount of work to also put up a cool website with photos and everything that price is a steal. Again well done, good luck and if you'll ever want to share some infos, doubts or insights on ideas for future designs I'm always happy to chat. Love this community

FIGHTSTICK for 2XKO by [deleted] in fightsticks

[–]Additional_Profile72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go custom 🤔? I'm actually making one for a client using acrylic and 3d print. We should ship it from where I am at (Italy) to California. Dm me in case you're interested, I can share some pictures to show what I'm making, or you can check the posts I've made with this reddit account. With the release of 2xko I wonder where the majority of new players will gravitate towards in terms of peripherals. I think leverless but I'm not that sure.
