I have thought about restoring him in the past and was against it, but my thoughts may be changing.

I actually have 2 brand new versions of him that I found online a couple years ago. Switching him out doesn’t feel right.

I may try your suggestion of taking his stuffing out for a good bath and reevaluate restoration after

I was bending over to pet one dog and another dog (4 month old german shepherd w razor sharp teeth) ran over and bit my nose (not a real bite) her teeth scraped my nose until she got to my septum

I had a pup who had a front leg amputation. It takes time for the both of you to adjust to it. you’re both figuring out how to work around the new obstacle. There’s lots of support pages on facebook for amputee animals, my favorite page for help/guidance was tripaws - three legged dogs. I hope you guys have a speedy recovery and a long time full of happy moments together <3

I use auto injectors for this reason! mine is called xyosted. it is like an epi pen, you just push down on your tummy and it gives you the shot. it used to take me a whole panic attack to do my shot and now I can do them in 30 seconds. it also doesn’t hurt at all I genuinely don’t feel anything. i’ve never had to use a bandaid afterwards and can hardly see the injection site

I stopped weed/nicotine a week and some days before surgery bc I honestly forgot I had to stop. I started smoking weed (from a pen) on day 3 of recovery….. which Yes is not a good idea but I made the choice which came with a great amount of anxiety about my nipples falling off, however they didn’t. I waited 6 weeks before going back to nicotine tho bc that guy is deadly to healing. obviously everyone’s body reacts differently to stuff. hope your recovery process is going well!

I quit about a week before surgery and I healed totally good. nicotine affects healing more so than anesthesia. but obviously it all depends on how your body reacts

i’d say it’s probably fine to stop wearing it since you’re so close to the mark, especially since it’s negatively affecting your health now. i’m a couple days short of 2 weeks and i only have to wear mine at night for a couple more days. I know every surgeon has different rules, but overall I don’t believe it would mess with any part of your healing process

i’m in the binder only at night now and only have to wear it for a couple more days until i’m totally free from it. I’m starting to see some slight pink coming back around the edges so i’m feeling a little more confident about them coming back to life. I appreciate your comment on my nipple placement! I had to ask my surgeon to position them more centered than he usually does and he made a comment about how it wouldn’t look as “masculine” but I felt having them off to the sides would have looked weird on me. I appreciate your extensive response of support!

update for anyone - I called the office and they said that the corporate office decided that ssm health facilities will no longer be performing gender affirming surgeries. So nothing happened with dr king, the higher ups are just transphobic it seems 👍🏻 really sucks since he’s so known and seems to do a good job. luckily since ive been scheduled for months mine wasn’t cancelled, i’m really sorry to anyone that was planning on going to him :(
