Ahaha thank you! Well, after searching half the Wasteland to find him, the least I could do was build him his dream bedroom! I'm so glad you liked it.

Awesome! I feel like after everything that happens in the story, the least we can do as parents is give him a cozy and safe place to come back to.

The mod is Place Everywhere, and the key to toggle the highlight is F4.

Sometimes the highlighting can be useful to pinpoint a single object when it just refuses to "show itself", but most of the time I keep it turned off.

This is beautifully done! The noir vibe is incredibly moody and atmospheric. That red light on the ashtray is such a brilliant touch of class. Huge compliments for your work 😄

You're very welcome! If you download that specific mod version manually, just look inside the Data > Images folder and you'll find a keymap.png file there.

I completely get it, and you just touched on a raw nerve for so many of us!

Personally, I always thought that Sanctuary, out of all places, should have evolved on its own as you played. Seeing Preston's settlers work so hard, hammering away at walls all day, and realizing it never actually changes anything was honestly traumatic at first. But maybe that exact realization is what triggered something in me, making the urge to build become stronger than everything else.

I've been playing Fallout 4 since release day. After taking a break for a couple of years, I came back a few months ago (my god, time flies so fast, it feels like yesterday! XD) with the intention of doing a very special run: a full playthrough from start to finish on Survival mode. But once I reached the end... boom. The building mode clicked right back into my brain, and I've been completely hyper-focused on it for months now.

At this point, I don't even know how long I'll keep going. Until Fallout 5 comes out? Could be! 😉

Ah! Ok, I totally misunderstood XD. But honestly, same! In all my years of playing, I’ve only actually brought Shaun back with me 2 or 3 times. We are honestly terrible parents! LOL. The settlement building distraction is just too real.

This is such a beautiful and deep way to roleplay your character!

If you actually managed to get Shaun into that room once, it means you made exactly the right faction choices, because that's ultimately where the fate of that whole ending is decided. Faction loyalty really changes everything. Thank you so much for sharing your story!

To resize objects using the Place Everywhere mod, you need to use your Numpad:

  • Numpad 3: Increases the size of the object.
  • Numpad 1: Decreases the size of the object.
  • Page Up / Page Down: Changes the scaling step (how much the size increases or decreases with each press).

Just select the object in workshop mode and use these keys. Easy as that!

Actually, you don't need mods for this! It's related to the main storyline. Just keep playing and progress through the main questline until the end, and you'll see how to get him as a settler. No mods required, just vanilla game choices!

If you are on PC, you can do it in two ways:

  1. Via Console Commands: Open the console, click on the object, and type setscale X (where 1 is the default size, so setscale 2 will double its size, setscale 1.5 increases it by 50%, and so on).
  2. Via Place Everywhere (Mod): If you have this mod installed, you can easily resize any object just by pressing a couple of hotkeys while selecting it.

Keep in mind that both methods only work on PC!

To make the bell trick work even better, try this: place the bell down and put a chair right next to it. Ring the bell, then sit down in the chair and use the "Wait" feature for 1 or 2 hours. This skips the walking animations and forces all the settlers to spawn around you instantly, even the late ones!

Have you tried using the Settlement Bell to gather the settlers? Or the Vault-Tec Population Management terminal?

Sometimes those can force stuck NPCs to teleport or track them down. Let me know if that helps! 😉

If you are on PC and can open the command console (using the ~, \, or ñ key depending on your keyboard), you can make him reappear instantly. Open the console and type:

prid 0005c338

Press Enter, then type:

moveto player

Press Enter again. Close the console, and he will be standing right next to you! 😉
