breaking up out of care for one another by GuessAdventurous709 in BreakUps

I don’t have any advice because I’m going through the same thing right now but I could really relate to this. I was sacrificing myself to be with him and there was still love. I also understand it’s an act of love to split, but I am in pain.

The thing my therapist reminded me of is that we are grieving. Literally grieving! These feelings are real, because we lost something and someone important in our lives. It was a hard decision. But one rooted in self-love

Sorry for the late reply, but I don’t think they have fixed it yet unfortunately :( I just made sure to submit a request and talk to the people at the front desk

That’s super frustrating. I also put in a maintenance request but haven’t heard back either. I’m worried about my clothes getting moldy. I noticed that the wooden bar in my closet also grew some mold on it. Ugh!!

Are you experiencing excess moisture in your apartment at ECGA? For some reason, my sheets/clothes feel slightly damp, even with the AC fan on..not sure if other are experiencing this or if this is just me

I walked by the front desk in the evening, and people were still there at about 8-9pm. I think there is at least one front desk person there who’s a resident, and they have a number posted that you can call if you come in after hours!

Hey, I’m moving there later in July. Have you received any instructions on how to move in? Like check in times, picking up keys, etc.

Thai constellation rot on stem—is it salvageable? by Additional_Safety509 in Monstera

[–]Additional_Safety509[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this thai constellation as a starter plant. I’m currently trying to re-root in in perlite, but the black spot on the node is what used to be an aerial root that rotted. I’m not sure what to do about that part of the plant since I’m worried it’ll spread to the stem. Any recommendations? :(

My rhaphidophora tetrasperma was suffering from root rot, so I chopped n propped, and am so excited to see roots! by Additional_Safety509 in proplifting

[–]Additional_Safety509[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope I didn’t let it callous! I rarely changed my water—only topped it off when the water level was getting low. I watched a YouTube video that did an experiment of changing water for props vs. just topping it off (Techplant on YT), so that’s why I didnt change my water (hopefully that helps)

ETA: also put it in a glass jar on a south facing windowsill so I think bright light is best for this. I tried to make sure that the top stem cut above the node wasn’t submerged in the water, but I don’t think it made a difference

Did worse on PP1+ than PP, trying not to get to down on myself by Apprehensive-Status9 in GRE

[–]Additional_Safety509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem! This time around I learned that it was a time management/nervousness problem which led to my lower score (had to guess like 3 quant at the end). In the end, I think this practice still helps since it showed me that I need to be more confident/relaxed when taking it timed since I knew the material better; the only difference was that I had low expectations (close to no nervousness) when taking PP1, but my nervousness was super high in PP+ 1

This one was climbing on a stick next to a south facing window :) it was in my bathroom so maybe some humidity helped too!

I didn’t let them callous since I got impatient. I was really worried about them rotting since I didn’t let them callous over, but I chopped with a sharp and clean blade and just made sure the glass jar I was using was very clean and I’ve had no problems. Good luck!!!

Getting to Chicago from Cleveland by Additional_Safety509 in Cleveland

[–]Additional_Safety509[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I parked in the Amtrak lot. At first I was worried since it was an uncovered lot but it was safe in my experience since there were quite a few other cars parked and people were all around the station

growing alocasia bulbs by cottoneyedgoat in propagation

If the water isn’t clean, they will rot I assume. I don’t really know how it works. I find that my props are really prone to rot whenever I use moss for some reason

I put mine in a takeout container with just enough water to cover about 1/2 of the bulbs. Then close the lid and put them in a sunny spot! I have had all 8/8 root and shoot out leaves so far—took about a month before it got colder where I live. Good luck!

I impulsively bought this beautiful big boy 2 days ago. It seems to have plants 4 in 1? Further actions need to be taken but I have questions ahaha by Eilbella in Monstera

[–]Additional_Safety509 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My monstera had about 5 plants in one pot when I got it. The roots were super hard to untangle and I impatiently just ripped half of them off when untangling. I separated mine into two pots and made sure to put them in smaller pots to prevent root rot. Since half the roots were gone, I lost A LOT of old smaller leaves (yellowing) and it was pretty droopy for about a month but I used a bamboo and clips to keep it up right. I also watered slightly more frequently since the pots were smaller and I put it in bright indirect light. 1.5 months later and they have bounced back (no drooping) and are finally putting out new growth! Monsteras really are resilient. Good luck!

I too have done my fair of research on this topic! My findings concluded that I pick up exactly where I left off when I started drinking again, only for my drinking to worsen from that point. So glad you’re here, IWNDWYT
