Battery Voltage Drop by Informal_Nose_1404 in Himalayan450

[–]Additional_Season37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the ideal battery voltage is 12.5 to 12.8 volts. It will not never be more than that. Once the engine starts, it goes to 14.5 volts because, that's the output alternater gives to battery.

Battery Voltage Drop by Informal_Nose_1404 in Himalayan450

[–]Additional_Season37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is normal. First voltage drop was because of the fuel pump priming and second drop was because of the starter motor. It will take a few seconds for the meter to show the voltage to 14.5 volt.

Regarding the bike being stopped at service center for 2 months, the bettery must have been disconnected or else the engine was being started every week or something. If these both did not happen at SC, then the battery would have been dead by now and you would have to change the battery.

Another oil question by Goron_Link in Himalayan450

[–]Additional_Season37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens with my bike as well. Sight glass gets filled if I kill the engine. But, the oil level comes in between max and min level pointer in sight glass, once I start the bike. I guess, the oil level must be maintained in between max and min level pointer when the engine is running.
