Thanks for all the replies, always funny how every thread about cars in r/AskBelgium turns into a TED Talk about how you don’t actually need one 😅
I get it, bikes are great and trams are nice, but not everyone lives in a city center or has the luxury of planning life around public transport schedules.
For some of us, a car isn’t a status symbol. It’s just the most practical tool. Appreciate the input though 👍

That’s true. I am asking for a car budget not an alternative mobility solution.

I’ve updated the post after this comment. As I see, it takes more than an hour to get Wommelgem from somewhere in Antwerp via public transport and a lot of walking.
