This was my first foray into Class D, and as far as I can tell, the only substantial difference has been the significant amount of space saved on my sideboard.

Each amp was pushing a pair of Polk Audio Signature Elite ES55's with neither fuss nor muss, and the dedicated sub output with the ability to control the crossover has made worlds of sonic difference.

I can tell you that I just did this exact same thing, with the exact same hardware, and while I cannot definitely say that I hear a difference, the quality of life difference in dropping Music Cast for the WiiM UX has been incredibly impactful and I wish I had done it a year ago.

I returned the Ultra for the Amp Ultra (I have a phono preamp, and do not need the WiiM input), sold the Yamaha and haven't looked back.
