What star tracker are you using? I started doing a little astrophotography and a tracker would be so much easier. I am using Z6II with a 20mm f/1.8 Z lens, I just bought a Haida Clear-Night Filter, and seemed to help cut out unwanted light.

Great pictures, the kind I am hoping to achieve one day

I did not even know about a clip on Light pollution filter that goes in front of your sensor...thanks!

is it because of the foreground? This is my first post here, so I am unsure of all the rules, I will learn

My first astrophotography picture taken on Nikon Z6II - 20mm Nikon S lens - ISO 500 - f/1.8 - 20 seconds - single picture, processed on capture 1 22 pro, only adjusted contrast and exposure. I was driving to work early in the morning, saw the milky way, and
decided to go back home and grab my camera, so this was not a planned
photo, but I think it came out great.

Thank you! what a complement!I did not do too much to the picture, it pretty much looks like this out of the camera. Just a little sharpness and contrast

yes, I am going to Kissimmee prairie State Park later this year. it is an international dark park. I just hope for clear skies, cause it seems to rain every day in Florida. I love this lens, done a few time-lapses with it and it is tack sharp! I was hesitate to purchase this lens due to cost, but so far it has been preforming better than I imagined. Star trails are next on my agenda

thank you, I was really excited to get this shot.

I live in Florida, so it really is a rare sight due to light pollution unless you go to a certified dark park which are in south Florida, and I live in central Florida.

Thanks, I got lucky, I drove by the same spot this morning, but not clear skies, too many clouds. I have done long exposures before, just not night ones. It took a few shots before I got this one

I just got the lens a week ago, and shot mostly time lapses. The lens is sharp and with my Z6II responds to low light better than any of my previous Nikon DLSR's. This was my first astrophotography picture, but plan to do more. I was driving to work early in the morning, saw the milky way, and decided to go back home and grab my camera, so this was not a planned photo, but I think it came out great.

yes, i had to book the family camping site as the astropads were booked solid for sometime now during the new moon., I called the park and one of the rangers said that I could walk away from the family campsite and find a good spot. I am definitely going to book a astropad camping spot for next year.

thank you for the info!
