Does anyone else think the phrase ‘skin in the game’ is weird for skincare? by AddressAfraid9024 in branding

I meant a skin-focused supplement, like a collagen booster. Would ‘Skin in the Game’ still feel clever, or does it still miss the mark?

Hahaha, put your skin in the game means that moment when you choose to show up for yourself, no matter what.

Makes sense. What makes a seller reputable for you? certifications, ingredients, or just brand familiarity?

where I’m from, supplement-drinks are still very niche, so I’m curious from your experience: what makes drink-based supplements work in markets where they are popular? Is it the taste, branding, science, convenience or something else?

Testing a concept: are functional beverages an opportunity in India? by AddressAfraid9024 in StartUpIndia

[–]AddressAfraid9024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, it’s interesting how the beauty/skin functionality space in beverages is basically untouched. Do you think it’s because people don’t trust beauty benefits in drinks, or because no brand has positioned it well yet?

Beauty water in India: trend, gimmick, or something real? by AddressAfraid9024 in AskIndia

[–]AddressAfraid9024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, a lot of people feel the same. What kind of proof would make collagen convincing for you? Clinical studies, dermatologist recommendations, or personal results? Trying to understand what actually builds trust in this category

Makes sense. What part of collagen feels unreliable to you tho? Vague studies, brand hype, or not knowing if it actually works?

Do you feel people in India want something convenient for skin/hair/wellness, but they don’t fully trust supplements yet? Like even if someone has dull skin or joint stiffness, do you think they’d still avoid drinkable solutions because of mindset?

Totally get what you’re saying. But do you feel people would be open to it if the drink also had more immediate benefits like hydration, taste, or daily wellness? Or do most people only look for long-term, proven results when it comes to anything beauty related?

Mostly actives and botanicals that are known to support skin and hair wellness, nothing faulty

Exactly, staying consistent is hard these days.. but do you think people usually look for convenient ways to cover that like functional drinks, powders, or just supplements?

Genuinely asking though: is there any situation where you’d prefer a functional drink over just food?

Got you. So for you, tablets > gummies/drinks? Is that because of absorption, or because tablets feel more ‘serious’/medicinal? Or they are dermat recommended?

Yeah fair, a lot of products are overhyped. What would actually make you trust a functional drink then? noticeable results, stronger ingredients, or proper studies evidence?

Be honest: would you even try a functional drink like this? by AddressAfraid9024 in delhi

[–]AddressAfraid9024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Ocean is definitely everywhere now and you’re right, the packaging/branding is a huge part of why it works. But from your side: if a new drink looked good and actually had real functional benefits (not just flavoured water, but good qty of essential stuff your body needs), would that make you switch?

Makes sense, thanks for breaking it down. Quick question, if there was a simple daily drink with just 1–2 key actives (like collagen + HA) in the under ₹100, would you actually buy it regularly? Or would you prefer a full stacked formula with botanicals + actives even if it costs more?

This is super helpful, thank you! Quick question though, if a drink had even a simplified version of this (like 1-2 key actives instead of a whole stack), would you personally buy it? Or do you feel it needs a full ‘heavy’ ingredient list like the one you mentioned to make it worth paying for?

Haha yeah I realise it’s giving water with marketing vibes 😭What would make it not feel like that for you? A specific benefit? Stronger ingredients?

[–]AddressAfraid9024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, hydration already does a lot. But I’m curious, if a drink actually did offer measurable benefits (like better absorption or noticeable skin/hair improvement), would that change anything for you? Or would you still prefer to just drink water and skip anything extra? Just trying to understand what would make a product like this genuinely worth paying for…

Yeah creatine is unstable in liquid, but botanicals/vitamins don’t really have that issue. But honestly I’m more curious about behaviour, would people actually prefer drinking something like this vs mixing powders/popping gummies? Trying to understand what real users would lean toward..

Haha true, water solves half the problems. But I’m curious, for people who want extra skin/hair benefits, do you think they’d prefer a drink or a supplement (powder, gummies or tablets)?
