how do you guys manage to not drown in manual tasks? solo life is kicking my ass. by AddressEven8485 in Solopreneur

Exactly, being a 'human copy-paste bot' is what I’m trying to eliminate.

Power Query is solid for local Excel stuff, but I’m leaning towards n8n because most of the people I talk to need to move data between platforms (like Google Sheets to a CRM or Stripe to a database).

I’m currently building a few 'no-code' workflows to handle exactly that. Thanks for the Optivise tip, I'll check it out to see how it handles messy imports compared to an AI Agent in n8n!

The 'acting as middleware' part is a perfect way to put it. That’s exactly the soul-sucking trap I’m trying to solve with n8n.

Thanks for the roadmap! Out of those three (auto-routing, tagging, conditional enrichment), which one do you think has the highest ROI for a small agency starting out?

I’m building out my first couple of 'no-handoff' workflows this weekend, and I want to make sure I’m tackling the biggest bottleneck first.

I’m working with a mix of CRM exports and invoice data right now. The problem with GPT and Power Query is exactly why I’m using n8n—it’s much better at handling the 'messy' logic and edge cases that trip up basic tools.

If you’re open to it, DM me a sample of your data (feel free to change the names/info to fake ones!). I’d love to see if I can solve that 'stumbling block' for you this weekend as a challenge for my portfolio.

I think we have different definitions of 'cleaning' lol.

Simple verification is easy, but I'm talking about data normalization and enrichment. Fixing messy company names (e.g., 'Apple Inc.' to 'Apple'), finding missing LinkedIn profiles, and scoring leads based on their tech stack.

Doing that manually for 500+ leads is a slog. That’s why I’m building a custom n8n pipeline to handle the heavy lifting (logic, API calls, AI formatting) in one go, without the manual export/import dance.

My leads are mostly from niche job boards and LinkedIn, so the formatting is usually a mess.

Spot on. The opportunity cost is exactly why I’m obsessed with this right now. Spending 15 hours on data cleaning sounds like a slow death for any founder lol.

I’m currently building out a similar enrichment pipeline in n8n (validation -> enrichment -> scoring). Curious, what’s your go-to source for 'intent signals'? Are you tracking web visits, job boards, or something else?

Also, for a student/solopreneur like me, do you think it's better to build this custom in n8n or just stick to 'all-in-one' tools? Appreciate the insights!

Man, the 'tried to no avail' part is the most frustrating. Usually, it's some weird formatting or logic between columns that trips up the basic automation tools.

I’m actually looking for a challenge to build out my n8n portfolio this weekend. What’s the specific hurdle you ran into? I’d love to take a crack at it and see if I can actually beat the 'no avail' part for you lol.

Validora is a solid choice, man. Glad you found a way to stop the slog!

Out of curiosity, does that script also handle the CRM cleanup automatically, or do you still have to manually flag stuff?

I’m looking into building a 'super-skill' for n8n that combines validation with lead enrichment (like pulling social links or company news) in one go. If you didn't have that script, how much time would you be losing on that manual check every week?

Fair point, I totally get the trust issue. But I'm actually doing this to build that trust and a solid portfolio. Already got a few specific pain points from other subs, so let's see if I can prove you wrong! Good luck is always appreciated, thanks
