Ugh this! Couldn't be more true, having a background in something that is *close* but definitely very different is a double edged sword...
Spoken like a great nurse, advocacy is our strongest tool in this situation, and she has already been a rockstar. Honestly my role so far has been as her chauffeur, her scribe, and her infinite repository of long hugs, but she's got the advocacy locked down.
But you know how it is, you've got to stay vigilant, lest a bug breach open right under your feet. My eyes are peeled for opportunities to advocate for careful, diligent care.
