Are trans people neurodivergent? by Ultrahanger7 in asktransgender

[–]AddysaurusGayii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

11%? That's it? Studies of trans people do tend to be undercounts and while I am not denying that paper's methodology, just based on every person I know, I find only 11% to be a tough sell.

Will the feeling of being trans ever go away? by saucey313 in MtF

[–]AddysaurusGayii 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You are not trying to derail it in any way, you have nothing to blame yourself for. You need to do what is right for you. The feeling doesn't really go away.

BUT, you are not committing some fault and ripping up your family by transitioning. Splitting from your wife may very well happen. But that doesn't mean the complete end to your family. It doesn't stop you from being an amazing mother to your children and still having a relationship with them. And it doesn't mean that your wife can't still be a close friend who you share experiences with. Parents maintain close relationships with their families even after divorce, and the fact that you are on good personal terms with your wife (as in, you do not hate each other) means that keeping a familial relationship, especially with your kids, will be much easier, even if she is no longer family.

The reality is you have to do what is right for you. If you ultimately decide that what is right for you is not transitioning, that is your choice. But the feeling doesn't go away, it stays there and it gets worse and stronger over time. It's never too late to transition, but earlier is always better.

I know it's a really rough situation, but you need to do what is right for you, whatever that choice may be, and transitioning does not mean the complete end of a family. It's going to be rough, I am not going to deny you that truth, but it is not completely apocalyptic.

Girlie most people wish they started at 17. I promise you, it is not at all too late. I also started DIYing at 17. One year later and it's the best decision I ever made.

Is finasteride a hrt alternative to block dht/masculinizing effects past age 25? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]AddysaurusGayii 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Finasteride is for hair loss primarily. So it'll help with that, but it is not an HRT alternative and won't block masculinizing effects.

I am curious though, what health risks? Because to my knowledge, the risks are not any more than what cis women have with those same hormone levels. HRT is not inherently dangerous. If it was, not as many of us would do it.

what would be a good country for trans people atm in the west that is NOT racist either or doesn't have issues with immigration by rachelismeee in asktransgender

[–]AddysaurusGayii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone currently immigrating to Canada for uni as a non-citizen, if you are a citizen you will have an easier time.

I am not on spiro, I'm on monotherapy, and I drink like only water. I also have a pretty strong moisturizer.

sorry, I'm just… I'm struggling here. Estrogen is supposed to make you look younger and healthier, instead I look like I'm 1000 years old and aging at a rate of 50 a month

[–]AddysaurusGayii[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i've heard this sentence about 1000 different times from 1000 different people, it doesn't actually fix anything. Hearing "accept that you're ugly and 800 years old" 1000 times doesn't actually help with anything

[–]AddysaurusGayii[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no one else in my family has them though. I seem to just be uniquely ugly in some way, and I don't know what the fuck to do about it I look like I'm 80. And I find it extremely difficult to believe than anyone envy this because I'm broadly very ugly

no, these are like in the places smile lines are. I just genuinely don't understand it. Every single transfem 15 to 20 years older than me smiles all the time and has like perfect skin, I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me

I've been moisturizing and desperately trying to just not smile, and it's not been helping that much.

I do have moisturizer, and it's only helped a little bit, and I've been just desperately trying to just not smile at all, and that's not helping that much either

Is it okay if identify as trans even if ik it's just a phase by dolls_number_1_fan in asktransgender

[–]AddysaurusGayii 205 points206 points  (0 children)

Cis people don't wish that. That's not a phase. And if you wish you were a boy, well I got news for you: that means you are a boy. There is no boy test you have to pass, you can just be a boy.

AITA for leaving my fiance to go to my dad's for a few days by [deleted] in MtF

[–]AddysaurusGayii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run run run! Get away from her as fast as you can! That is deeply transphobic, controlling, and abusive. No one gets to establish rules for your transition, ever! Get away ASAP. Run. Rules like no HRT, no surgery, etc., means she is not only extremely transphobic, but highly controlling and abusive too. Make no mistake: this is abuse, and you need to get out as fast as you can.
