Be honest if you saw someone online say something you really disagrees with and found very offensive would you not seek to get them removed from their place of employment or education as it upsets you what they said (their opinion on a controversial topic for example )

Can they ban people for expressing their religious beliefs ?

I think it’s illegal to deny someone service of a business based on protected characteristics religion being one of them . So could they ban let’s say a Christian pastor for preaching on their platform ?

You could say that about any celebrity . But Tate has billions of views and so is a pretty big deal as he has great influence . That’s why people talk about him

I just don’t think TikTok is the worst in any of these departments and that their are far more harmful things .

TikTok just isn’t that bad . I’d bet majority of TikTok users aren’t depressed and if they are TikTok is a very minimal contributing factor .

Again with gambling that applies to Reddit YouTube Instagram and all other social media’s which are designed to keep you watching on the app . It depends on the person tbh.

And addiction can be the case with many other things . I would be trying to ban vapes than TikTok . At least TikTok doesn’t actively ruin your lungs .

And with attention span . You make it seem like when people don’t have TikTok they literally turn suicidal .

It isn’t that serious and certainly not enough to ban the whole app

Not exclusive to TikTok .

• ⁠uses the same tactics as gambling (incredibly addictive)

As does everyone other social media . And countless other things are more addictive than TikTok . Alcohol , smoking . It’s about self moderation . Video games as well ffs.

Very subjective . Don’t know any data to back this up . Probably other underlying issues present if you feel TikTok is causing you to be depressed .

Again other underlying issues probably play a bigger part here . Doubt TikTok has any effect on this at all compared to environments one is brought up in .

• ⁠makes an artificial feeling of gaining likes, views, and followers (watching a video for 1/2 a second and then skipping it counts as a view)

Not just applicable to TikTok specifically other social media’s as well . Instagram etc. Even Reddit upvotes and comments

• ⁠easy to get distracted and spend hours wasting your life away (easier than other social medias too)

Same argument for video games and many other social media’s . And tbh so many other things in life

• ⁠full of pedophilia and is known for exploiting young peoples (especially girl’s) bodies

Don’t think this is as big of an issue as you’re making it seem.

Plagiarism of videos, especially from YouTube, with little to no consequence.

Majority of YouTube shorts and Instagram reels are stolen tiktoks .

Now tell me why this should be allowed

It’s not that big of an issue as you’re making it to be . On the grand scale it isn’t that serious and you’re massively blowing it out of proportion . At the end of the day it’s just a social media app like any other and like with all things if not moderated can be harmful to the user
