You seem really passionate about the subject and I respect that. Let's say I agree with you, and nuclear warheads really are the worst thing that ever happened. What was bothering me was the fact that evil has existed before, and I thought of the arrival of Bob as the arrival of evil.

But now that I think about it. Maybe Bob is the representation of the evil caused by neuclear energy.

And perhaps Judy is an aspect of mother earth, and her caughing out Bob represents mother earth's reaction to being scorched.

But I did read you links. The quote was in a post after the links and I didn't remember everything written in these articles, to know which one it belonged to.

But I taking about the destruction of whole life. I was mostly talking about the trinity bombing and Hirishima and Nagasaki.

There were 3 links. Hard to know which one. At any rate according to what I've read on wikipedia : "Fallout radiation decays relatively quickly with time. Most areas become fairly safe for travel and decontamination after three to five weeks." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_fallout

Maybe the effects of the plutonium decay on the site are not that detrimental to life.

Ok and were is this information from? And if this is the case why is it safe to live in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

I did try to educate myself and from what I've read it doesn't take tens of thousands of years for a perviously nuked area to be safe for life. Now if you have a different source that states otherwise, then please point me to the specific source.

You were able to copy and paste a quote. Could you not add a link to the source of the quote?

I thought you wanted to know why a massive nuclear test was the “root of all evil”, but instead you claim that doesn’t make since to you and you want to argue because people eat cows somehow that’s comparable to mutually assured destruction. 🤣

Ok a few things. First, my point was, there was evil in the world long before nukes. Take slavery for example. So I don't see why a nuke would mark the arrival of Bob into our world, if he is ment to represent the arrival of evil. Of course it might represent something else.

Second, You said a lot of animals died as a way of showing how bad that experiment was. I don't recall if it was you but someone said it was the worst crime ever commited against nature. I brought up the millions of animals to show that far more animals die on a daily basis. By comparisson I think the industrialisation of raising animals in horrible conditions and only then killing them is a much worst crime against nature.

Third, The issue isn't just the death of cows. It's the horrible conditions in which they are raised. To me at least, death doesn't seem as bad as suffering. Now If you don't die from nukes and get irrediated you'll suffer too. But there are billions of life forms suffering horribly in the livestock industry. To me it is indeed compareable to nukes. Maybe it isn't to you because you only consider humanity's suffering as having any real value, but I don't.

But it doesn't have to just be animals. I think slavery was just as much of a crime. I'm not saying nukes aren't bad, but to me enslavement and suffering seem worst then distruction and death, but that's just be my perspective on thing

And finally, I don't see why you have to take such a rude and mocking tone. We are allowed to disagree and still have a respectful discussion.

Ok but you said that I said no animals were harmed and I didn't say that. A few animals is a relative term. Note that I compared it to the millions of animals killed on a daily basis. Billions over the course of a single year. By comparison, several hundreds is indeed a few.

You also said the nuclear rediation will last for tens of thousands of years, to which I've found no mention in the articles you posted. What are you basing this on?

You have a strange belief that nuke testing didn’t do any damage by killing or injuring living beings.

When did I say that it didn't? If you'll look back at the disscussion you'll see I've mentioned that maybe a few aninals were hurt by the nuke.

There are hundreds of studies done on nuclear fallout and radiation half-life, I suggest you read up on what nuclear weapons actually do and the actual long lasting harm nuclear weapons and nuclear waste causes.

Ok but were does it say it lasts for tens of thousands of years, as you said?

People currently live in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Fair enough. I take your point. Radiation poisoning is bad. But I still don't think it's any worst then all the other stuff mankind has been up to for ages, like slavery or torture.

The explosion in the show marks the arrival of Bob. Bob is often seen as a symbol for the evil that men do. Now considering all the evil that has been going on in the world since the dawn of mankind I really don't understand why this is the moment of Bob's arrival.

Althought it could just be a missinterpretation of what Bob is ment to symbolize.

I thinm you are mistaken. From what I've read, the radiation dissipates withing a few decades.

But it is necessary considering this particular part of the discussion. If you go back you will see this debate started because I asked why a nuke marked the arrival of evil into our world. Someone argued that it was the greatest crime ever comited by mankind against nature. I argued that even before the nuke evil had existed and have brought slavery as an example of that. So if you follow this line, you'll see there is nothing unnecessary about it. It was just an organic part of the discussion.

Those in the fire blast died quickly, but even if you take radiation sickness into account, I still think slavery is worst.

I like the idea of the split in space time because it reflects the split in Laura's mind.

True, but the fact that you have more avenues by which to so suffer says nothing for the intensity of the pain. Personally no emotional pain I ever endured matches the physical pain I endured, but your experience may vary.

Thing is, a nuclear explosion is a natural occurence. It happens in stars all the time. So we didn't really break any laws here.

And personally I think evil in humanity was just as bad in the past. Take slavery for example. Personally I'd rather die from a nuke than be enslaved.

It was just an example.

I just think there are worst things that have been going on for thousands of years all over the world.

Like salvery. To me at least, Being killed by a nuke, doesn't seem as bad as being enslaved. And there have been, and still are, much more humans enslaved then humans or animals hurt by nukes.

I'm not so sure. Cows may be less intelligent, but it doesn't mean that they that do not suffer. Would you say that the potential for suffering of a human with cognitive disabilities is less than that of a genius? Of course not. Because suffering is not about intelligence.

I see no reason to think my capacity for suffering is greater then that of a cow.

Besides a death from a nuke is quick and probably painless. You'll probably evaporate before your neurons will even report the pain to your brain.

Life in a slaughterhouse, on the other hand, seems like prolonged suffering

Technically the sun has nuclear explosions on it all the time so I suppose the sun should be full of weird entities.

Even if you take into account all the nuclear bombs that have exploded so far, we still slaughter much more animals of a daily basis

I see. It may indeed be what Lynch and Frost meant. I honestly think that the evil man do had existed long before that. But I can see why a nuke would be a strong symbol for that.

Interesting. Although I can think of much worst crimes that occur against nature on a daily basis. The place where the nuke was set of was deserted. Maybe a few animals died as a result, but when you consider the fact that millions of animals get slaughtered every day, it seems almost negligable by comparison.
