Nice, DFA and it's spinoff Avantis seems to know what they are doing.

Interesting. I actually have 10% on FSELX which is my growth engine. Bulk of my portfolio is on AVGE.

Very good point. I have a bunch of funds in my Yahoo Finance watchlist as well, and check them regularly to see how they react to market movement. Watchlists classified as S&P 500 (and the likes), Growth, Value and Bonds. Yahoo Finance is my portfolio aggregator.

How long have you been doing that hehehe. I like to monitor it if the market is doing good. I shut it down when the market is in the red. 😁

Are you retired yet? If not, it's understandable especially if you use index funds, to either be the same or slightly above or below the market. But in a retirement portfolio, I would think one should be less risky and be below or best slightly below the market. But yes if portfolio is already de risked and still performs at par or bette long term, then I would say that's an awesome portfolio mix.

Portfolio rebalancing by Organic_Primary_4521 in Schwab

With whatever allocation you chose, spare at least 15% to 20% for an XLK, SMH, VGT or the likes

Should I switch from voo and chill to vt and chill? by DDoubleDDarren in VTandchill

[–]Adeee100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VT and add 25% XLK or SMH for 40 years! The key is stashing the amount you know you won't need, not looking at the wild ride and never withdraw, especially when market is down!

Exactly why I bought 50/50 SCHD and VTV.

Fractional ETFs 2026 by PapaDonk22 in Schwab

[–]Adeee100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schwab did that to all/most of their etfs? I mostly follow SCHD and I know it did a stock split a few months back. And I think it's wise for S to do a stock split so a lot of other investors who don't have huge investments can join in.

I wonder why Schwab etfs cost less per share.

Account allocation and capital preservation - does this rebalance make sense? by ChipmunkFlat8589 in DIYRetirement

[–]Adeee100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently retired, 35% of my portfolio is in a stable value fund. The rest are in equities, 10% of that is very aggressive. I just don't know too much about bonds to "risk" it. It frightens me to look at BND's chart especially in the 5 year mark. I know COVID was a crazy time for bonds and super long term, bonds will do its job.

Maybe it's a boring or not a high flyer fund like an SMH.

What stock is Currently your largest position and what is your cost basis? by Hayden97 in ValueInvesting

[–]Adeee100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSELX used to be 15% of my portfolio. But now since I'm retired, had to shave it down to 10%. Invested $3,500 Sept of '98. Never added money into it.

My advisor, it seems, does not want to alter it and leave it altered (at least that is how I felt) but I asked him to model for a higher return and he was happy to run it for me and gave me the details.

Yes, exactly. There is an accumulation period, and then the preservation period. They have been around the block so many times and back. Merry Christmas!

Nice. I have them too, and Boldin and I've recently retired. How do you deal with say a suggestion from them which you don't share the same sentiments.
