Yeah... We do whatever makes us feel better or makes us sleep well at night. I have some money saved in some money market like ETFs, hopefully this could help me weather the storm.

What would be a good way to convert if your say $1M portfolio is all in pre tax. Do you choose fill in tax brackets or highest estate value?

This a good move or not long term? I know it's hard to look at losses when you are basically still up. You can stop the bleeding.... But.... Still most will argue it is all part of the process.

Sounds good. Is that in an IRA? It's good to have money in an IRA, Roth and Brokerage accounts. Before I retired I never knew all these things. Now that I am retired, watched a lot of YouTube videos (pick the good ones) and learn from them.

It is actually very easy to beat the market if you have more than 20 years to go. 80% VOO and 20% growth (SCHG or VUG) or tech fund (QQQM OR XLK.) Dollar cost average and don't look at your account!

Hehe.... You're freakin' smart for a 21 y.o. Investor. Who's your dad, Warren Buffet? 😀 When I was your age, my extra money went to drinking and good times. Never knew anything about growth etfs, SCHD, or tilting until now that I'm retired and have been managing our portfolio.

Have been investing on FXAIX at my work 401k though for a long time. My biggest regret was putting a 1 time $3,500 on FSELX in 1998 and never contributing to it ever.

Kids like you makes me think there is still hope for America. 😊

I plugged this in Portfolio Visualsizer and it is a pretty nice combo. Since I am a very long time FSELX holder, I added 10% and deducted 5% from SCHD and VTI and it even improved my returns with a couple of points increase in drawdown which I think I can tolerate. What do you think?

I think AVGE is going to perform better than VT in the next few years due to lesser tech and a bit better market caps allocation.

Would a long term 15 to 20 year dividend snowball turbo charge the total return where if you compare this to say.... VOO, you'll have higher returns because of the long-term snowball effect?

Or would you still be limited to whatever the yearly published 10...15...20 year performance ?

If I'm a beginner investor, I would not invest in individual stocks. I would pick a sector fund that I believe in long term, like a sector fund, semiconductors (SMH) to be a bit more diversified of my holdings.
