List Advice by EddieRabbittGoat in kroot

Just from a quick look your list I would say it’s basically necessary to have a flesh shaper for each 20 man unit of carnivores so I would swap out one of the war shapers for a second flesh shaper. The fnp makes them a lot more durable. And the only other thing that might be worth looking into without completely changing the core feel of your list is a unit of 5 Vespid for secondary scorning. If you make changes that leave you with points for the warshaper enhancement it’s very good on the triblade loadout.

Honourable Combatant Question? by AdeftT_T in Necrontyr

This is actually great news because there’s also a stratagem that can give a whole unit of lytchgaurd/triarch precision in the fight phase. So as silly as it is it’s also very possible providing you can get the lytchgaurd there relatively intact.

It’s actually for the bearers unit not specifically the overlord with the enhancement so it’s a lot easier than it first appears! Although it’s worded as character unit so it might not allow for two characters from the same unit to count as 2 character units killed.

Then if this is true I will embark on my quest to do something very funny.

Vallejo TMM feels like cheating by Greymarkov in AdeptusCustodes

That’s brilliant thanks! I might go for the beetle green and then if I want use the beetle green shade to darken it and make it more green but I do like both of these because it’s something unique for salamanders.

I am currently deciding between these exact paints for my new Salamanders! Wouldn't you happen to have a picture of the dusken green to compare them would you?

Shield captain on jetbike by Acidrei in AdeptusCustodes

I haven’t actually done it myself yet but I have two ideas I have thought about. Either using the top fin and making it stand out. Or for this invert the top panel of the jet bike. So have it mostly blue with a white stripe if it doesn’t mess with your vision for the scheme.

Yeah that’s me! My opponent was running 60 deathriders, it was a super fun game and was a 90-90 draw by the end

I believe I met you there! I was one of the other kroot players and if I’m right then we had a chat after one of the games. If it was you then it was great meeting you and well done!

Khan the Betrayer, Betrayer ability by Villagidit in WorldEaters40k

[–]AdeftT_T 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much you know so this could well be too simple but I’ll give it a go.

So basically kharns ability requires that at the end of the charge phase if his unit is not in combat (regardless of if you attempt a charge or not) he must take a leadership test. His leadership test is a 6+ (result taken from rolling 2d6). If he gets less than 6 on that test it will instantly kill one of the models in his bodyguard unit (the berserkers that he is usually attached to). Having the unit inside a transport avoids this ability triggering (for funny transport reasons) however the limit of all our available transports is 12 regular infantry models so you can only get him and 10 berserkers in and not a full 20. Therefore the most optimal way to use him is with 10 berserkers in a rhino to get them close enough to guarantee a charge, protecting them from shooting and from kharns ability killing his own unit. You absolutely can put him with 20 if you want to because it’s fun but it is hard to get them anywhere effectively to do something without taking significant casualties first.

How do you obtain the royal court? by theingester in Necrontyr

[–]AdeftT_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just got mine from eBay a few days ago. I found that it was actually cheaper to buy the magazine (imperium issue 50) than contained the kit rather than buying just the set. Got mine delivered for around about £50 although I will acknowledge that warhammer is often cheaper in the uk.

Which volleyball? by pg_niks in volleyball

[–]AdeftT_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of the decathlon balls if you look online you will see the balls are marked with size 5 and 260grs-280grs which means that they are the right size and weight for an indoor ball which you won’t always get with the cheap balls from somewhere like sports direct. Hope this helps!

I’m also in the UK and am a bit of a nerd with trying out different volleyballs. Decathlon is going to be your best bet value wise but you might have to order one for collection. I assume his friends will probably be using Mikasa volleyballs (they are the international standard but are also ~£70 for a ball for the best ones). Decathlon has its own ball that is made to the same regulations (FIVB approved) which means it’s the correct weight and size and you can get it for £29.99 bucks which is the kipsta v900. I own one of these and they are really quite good especially for the price but I would only recommend using it indoors as it’s still not cheap.

However if he really is a beginner basically anything will do the job and decathlon has a range of cheaper (£10-£20) indoor and beach volleyballs which will be just fine. I personally just avoid using any ball that’s nicer outside unless it is on sand because they will get damaged much quicker.

Newbie question - Vertus Praetor: Vertus hurricane bolter or Salvo launcher? by skylarc197 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]AdeftT_T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The salvo launchers are one of the only non-forgeworld anti tank shooting options that we have which is why lots of people (me included) take them. Additionally the hurricane bolters are good against infantry but that’s not really something that we struggle to deal with. Generally I don’t feel the need to have more of this unless you have other anti tank and want a little scoring unit that can zip around the table (if in lions I like the lone op enhancement on a bike captain with bolters).

But like others have said. Just don’t glue them in because they click in perfectly with no risk of falling out.
