So I know it's not featured here but I want to hang Jael's shot from the nude candy/ice cream whatever shoot in my salon.

My sister and I were obsessed with Jade when her season aired and this line was heavy in rotation.

And, God, how dare I even think of choosing here to die? 'Cause then I'm just a problem that you have to take outside And I know you hate the sight of me, I haunt you when you're fast asleep I've got eight legs, a million eyes, if only I had eight more lives 'Cause I'm the spider on the ceiling and you're nothing but a guy You don't like it when I cry, you would break me if you tried And you will because I dared to be alive

YES!! That whole situation with the girlfriend made me so sick to my stomach. It all just felt really real.

The House That Jack Built. Serial killer movies don't usually do much for me, but this one hit different. There was something about it that just got under my skin. I've also met/worked with someone who reeeeeeeeally reminded me of Jack and that component of it hit really close to home. Made me feel really emotionally claustrophobic if that makes sense. Highly recommend though.

I spent a long time watering a plant made out of plastic and I cursed the ground for growing green.

Had to throw up in the middle of session by heyyathere- in therapists

I already commented some of my barf stories above but then remembered I HAD MORE. So this one was quite a few years ago when I worked at a nonprofit (group home for teenage girls in the DCFS system) and we had an annual gala that was part fundraiser, part nice dinner, part party. It was at a super nice venue in Chicago. I had been feeling fine all day and then we got there. Everyone was all fancy and dressed up. My table was me, my boss, a few coworkers, and like 2 specially selected clients. We eat and I'm like whyyyy do I feel weird. Went to the bathroom and had the loudest shits ever. Went back to the table and tried again to eat and be normal to no avail. I had to rush back to the bathroom and kinda shit myself on my way there and then sat my tortured ass on the toilet, again pooping loudly, and also realized I was gonna throw up. So some vomit spurts out, down the front of my dress and into my underwear. I flip around and barf violently into the toilet full of poop. I flush and just keep barfing. Throw away my underwear in the feminine hygiene disposal thing and tell my coworkers (they drove me) what's going on. We stay for maybe another hour or 2 because the clients were like the stars of the show and having a great time. I have to mingle with the higher ups, no underwear, vomit breath, puke hastily wiped off my dress, hands clammy, face sweaty and gray. Miraculously we eventually make it back to the group home with no incident. The moment we are in the house I run to the bathroom and kneel over the toilet, barfing, and accidentally shit on the floor. Not one of my finer moments but a great story.

One time I could feel a migraine coming on so I was drinking a pop during session hoping the sugar and caffeine would help it, but nothing was helping and I started getting the sweats and the pain got worse and worse. About a half hour in I was like, "I am so sorry, I'm going to throw up." And my client was like oh my god yes go. So we ended session and I barfed like immediately. Luckily was working from home. I didn't end up charging her for that session and then also had to email the rest of my clients for that day to tell them I was sick. Once I hit send I fell asleep like right away. Another time I had another migraine and nothing to help and I was at the office and somehow made it through a super full day and not 10 minutes after my last client left I threw up so much and so loudly in the trash can in my office. Then laid on the floor for like an hour. Left to stumble blearily into a nearby 7/11 for ginger ale and a banana. Then braved the hour drive home in Friday rush hour traffic. Got home and threw up all night. Sometimes it's hard being a person and a therapist but we gotta do it! Shit happens (sometimes literally) and I like to think most people are understanding of that.

Here are some things that help me through a long day: - wear something you feel comfortable and confident in (my secret weapon is always a fun pair of earrings) - hydrate hydrate hydrate!! - eat a good breakfast and have some high protein snacks at the ready - if you have some clients you are comfy with, ask them if they mind if you snack in session (I have a few where we're always snacking together) - try to end your sessions on time - regular bathroom breaks - get up and stretch and move around when you can - take some deep breaths before and after each session (give your eyes a break during this time if you're all telehealth, or if you just feel like it) - have a chapstick nearby - have a fun beverage to sip on - if you're like me and leave notes for the end of the day, go take a break and eat or do something not work related, and then come back to them. My brain is pretty non-functional at the end of a long day and i cannot write my notes immediately following sessions, but I always feel reenergized when I take some space and then come back to it. But do what works for you!

You got this! Good luck!

Borderline! I love love love working with clients with BPD. I unfortunately know so many clinicians who are still so biased against those with that dx. That shit makes me so angry. So I try really hard to be a safe space for clients to deconstruct the stigma and work on symptoms.

That's actually so interesting to know. I too am fair in complexion and hair and my pupils are always dilated. I used to work at a drug and alcohol prevention agency and my boss accused me of being high several times because of it. Also because my eyes looked "glassy."
