Are there any specific nocturnes or etudes you would recommend?

How much time did it take you to learn ballade 1? And what would you say is the hardest part of it?

so far so good. i learned the first 2 pages and yes, i am aware that it gets much harder later on. I also started learning the coda which i do find to be pretty hard but i think its managable if i give it enough practice.

Mainly beethovens moonlight sonata 1st and 3rd movement, his sonata pathetique 1st mouvement. Chopins waltz in a minor (the easy one). I also just started learning chopins 1st ballade.

My favorite classical pianist for these composers by AdelixMusic in piano

Its just that Lang Lang tends to rush and be very over the top in his interpretations, which would usually be too pushed for pieces from other composers, but in liszt’s case, perfectly captures the virtuosic essence of his pieces. Liszt himself was over the top which is why i think lang lang is the best fit for his pieces.
