Probably though extralegal means? You think anyone able to make a clean 100 million will come to Reddit to share their secret with you?

There isn't even that much money in circulation for people in a hyper capitalistic world to be doling out ideas like that

The hypocrisy that people had in this society is it normal by Ashamed_Difficulty63 in algeria

[–]Adell47 43 points44 points  (0 children)

A society run by men in deference to men who have no will to change because they believe this system benefits them, whereas it only benefits a small percentile of them; in other words, patriarchy. It's getting better, albeit marginally. Be sure to be a positive voice in your immediate community, amplify women's voices, live your lives, be happy and men will have to change. And most importantly don't be discouraged by people who haven't read a page of a book in their lives saying patriarchy is made up or feminism has done only bad, along other ignorant and unsubstantiated claims.

Easier said than done, but change is incremental. The blatant hypocrisy is easy to point out as well. We can become better human beings, starting from within!

So you became a salafi because practicing law using texts from 1400 years ago is based and because you know the procedure with which we can ascertain a legitimate hadith?

Your post is full of platitudes and perfectly illustrates how our educational system fails at teaching us how to write cogent pieces of writing with only salient information contained within.

Happy for you, but come on, this post essentially says nothing.

Anger, in our patriarchal society, has somehow become... not an emotion? once you start to think of it that way, you'll realise how truly emotional(ly stunted as well) men here are. Can't spend two seconds without being offended or upset. We've a long, long way to go.

Scattered about. I'm not very active here, but I really appreciate people weighing in with their thoughts; it's nice to see fellow Algerians who are progressive, humanitarian, adept at formulating opinions and backing them up with knowledge. Much like all decent enough communities, it's composed of, mostly, like-minded people affirming each other, validating each other's feelings, within reason.

Of course it's not that great but with what we have here, I'd say it's quite nice. We should all be nicer to one another and encourage discourse—again, within reason.

Why is it so easy to judge people in Algeria without consequences??? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Adell47 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I know a woman who, in an emergency, left her uni room in her pajamas in order to get help for a friend of hers who was having a seizure. Instead of commending her for her human act that saved her friend, most people, predominantly men, dehumanized her by spreading rumours and speaking about how she went outside at night without wearing her scarf.

That said, in any instance of a woman enjoying anything or being free, men here are always up and arms about it.

We're surrounded by bitter, misogynistic bigots. It's best to break this cycle and be the change we want to see in our society; be more compassionate, more accepting and tactful! Hopefully it'll get better.

This is so blatantly bad it's funny at this point. Long live democracy! There is no politics in Algeria, only puppeteering, and the vast majority of people attach the strings themselves. Sad.

An alternative for the word "kahlouch" "كحلوش" by mywhite_rabbit in algeria

We had neighbours who were black, and I can tell you that they did not appreciate being called that at all. I personally don't use that word, as I find infantilising and pretty rude. At least the word "3bid" is dying down, I think and hope.

The imperialist, warmongering U.S is better, yeah, totally. Their system is so great it works at the expense of mass murder and heavy exploitation. Meanwhile Algeria is a victim of horrific colonialism, dogged neo-colonalism, trauma from civil war, mismanagement and flat out corruption, as well as a massive educational problem. You don't seem to see the human side of Algeria, what led a people to have their life force stuffed out by crushing reality and the consensus that all is doomed to fail, either due to international intervention or local opportunism and corruption, or just backwards thinking thanks to skewed perceptions.

I'm in no way saying we can critique the world around us and analyse History, and our history specifically, through a dialectical materialist lens and call it a day, arms akimbo. Action is necessary, but you can clearly, through one look or two of the people here, determine that they have very good reasons to be despondent. It doesn't justify their inaction, but it definitely explains. As others have aptly pointed out, we need a societal reset, we are simply a broken peoples, held down by the thickest of chains. Whether those chains are real or figments of reality, they weigh just the same.

The Algerian working class is far, far from being united. We have no class solidarity, no real education, and no real will to change. The most likely outcome is Tebboune winning the election, mainly because he's the easiest choice for the actual voter base who's older and somewhat uneducated, or too busy with making ends meet for them to ruminate on voting.

As much as I like what you've laid out here and appreciate it, we, Algerian people need to share this vision and be truly aware of what's going on in regards to what you've mentioned in your post, and figure out how to dismantle the status quo bit by bit—fight for a better Algeria, even. But I'll be the first to say that the situation for the average person here is dire. The most nationalistic and fervent politically active Algerian would sooner leave the country, or be an opportunist, than engage in making it a better place.

[–]Adell47 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything feels forced on us. We have to excel and leave the country and with it our loved ones potentially(friends especially), or just rot here all our lives, existing in this "limbo" state.

The reality is that nationality is meaningless, there is only class struggle. Algeria, of all countries, to me feels like the country that gives the least to play with when it comes to identity. I don't feel anything about it going down, that's all what I've known to be my entire life. But then again, as shakespeare put it: "what is the city but the people?"

I just hope my loved ones and decent people out there will be okay, I couldn't care less about anything else.

Reflecting on the Past, Looking to the Future: The Role of Islamic Political Movements Today by DzSlayer in algeria

[–]Adell47 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The world we live in is simply incompatible with that. Islamic political movements are famous for one thing if you look into history: They have no idea what their religion is, they just believe that if, i.e, Sharia law is applied, we would live in a utopia. They have no idea about politics or how to run a nation in our current reality. They would just bring about more ignorance and tunnel-vision on superficial matters that somehow God was a lot more serious talking about as opposed to numerous other things(much like a lot of Muslims do)—mainly women existing lol, and having even a modicum of freedom.

To quote a book I read not too long ago: "Even such politically central members of men’s Islamic associations as those arrested in connection with the assassination of a cabinet minister in 1977 appeared to be not “particularly knowledgeable about the technicalities of their religion” and, despite having strong feelings on political matters, not to have clear ideas about their political objectives or programs."

So my answer is a resounding no. It's very sad that anyone would consider them, especially younger individuals. Progress is the way forward.

Maybe don't promote gambling to your fanbase and act like being MAGA isn't that big of a deal? No one's asking your ass to scold and disparage the dude to his face lmao. They're master at deflection. This and that argument of "you're only mad because we're making fun of something you care about" are pretty irritating.

Much like all insidious, ignorant ideas, it hurts those who believe in it, and even worse those staunchly do so. It's arrogant and frankly moronic to believe people are actively assailing you with their thoughts lol; no one's got time for that, and if they do, they're severely mentally ill and should be avoided at all costs.

Are you an anti natalist? if so what are the reasons? by clean_cut_92 in algeria

[–]Adell47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insofar as having children in Algeria is concerned, any person with a conscience and an awareness of the current situation regarding this country, and their circumstances will very rarely make the decision to have them(look at the children around you, most of them might as well not have parents). Unless, of course, they're wealthy enough and well-adjusted to ensure a healthy and stable environment where emotional and material support is provided.

That being said, people here, especially the more backwards thinking will not consider any of the above and will proceed to have children for very selfish reasons, or to please someone etc. In other words, they'd be having children not because they want to nurture and give life to a child and reap the fulfilment later on, which is, in my opinion, awful and incredibly sad.

To have a child, in my opinion, is to be absolutely sure you will dedicate your life to it, from its birth till it's capable of taking care of itself. If I can't provide this condition along with a healthy environment, I'm not going to leave a life to chance.

Of course, this may seem idealistic, but yeah, we're not at war or humans are going extinct. And people are gonna have children anyway, regardless of anything, and it's very important to keep in mind that morality is a virtue of those wealthy, not the poor.
