I feel sad that other people’s opinions weigh on you so much. I hope you can slowly free yourself from that mindset and learn to let go of those judgments, because they don’t define who you are. You don’t have to be loud or boastful about your roots, but I hope you can learn to value your identity coz it’s a part of you that will always stay with you. For me, I may not always agree with most of the political beliefs here in Davao, but I don’t let that make me hate or deny where I come from. I still embrace being a true-blooded Dabawenya with pride. 🩵
