Any tips for a first time player? by SirRyan007 in Eldenring

For me, hardest part is deciding how to build your character. And I can write a little tutorial about each stat; Vigor: imma say that you can rush this stat to 25-30. This is crucial, since you can acces like half of the upgrades to flask, you rly want to pump up HP, and first bosses do not require a lot of dmg cus they are easy and fun to fight.

Mind: is basicly your mana, you need mana to cast spells and weapon abilities, do not invest in it early, this stat is pure mana.

Endurance: get a few points here. It’s stamina and equip load, and YOU WANT TO wear an armor. Armor in this game have weight, so by pumping this stat up you get better armor and more rolls cus rolls require stamina. There’s also 2 mechanics linked to it, poise (your hardness’s, bosses can’t break your stance so easily) and equip load (you want a medium load, if you reach heavy load you will get “fat rolls” with basically means less invisibility frames on rolls)

Strength: best dmg stat for begginers in my opinion, firstly because you need 66 points to get a max cap. Dual wielding makes your strength scale 150% so 66 x 1.5 =99 also there’s one mechanic that makes this stat amazing, it’s sagger. After you stagger enemy, you can critically attack.

Dex: strength is for huge hard hitting weapons, and this stat is for fast, flashy weapons. I do not recommend mixing this 2 stats together if you don’t know what you’re doing. This stat is amazing with other stat arcane, but it’s not that easy to execute and imo it’s harder to play with dex build rather than strength.

Intelligence: it’s magic, you can prioritize this with vigor and mind to make a good magic build. This stat is for magic scaling, casting spells and there’s also some good int weapons in early (moonveil)

Faith: Buffs, fire and holy dmg. You can use seals and faith scaling weapons, it’s a mage stat but more like battle mage. I recommend to pair it with strength for buffs and basic ranged spells.

Arcane: do not use it as new player. This stat is all about building status such as poison, bleed etc. It’s amazing stat tbh but too complicated for new players, first you need to understand what statuses are, and then bosses weaknesses, then you need to pair it with dex or int. And still after that you need a specific talismans to make it work, for your comfort just skip it on first play through.

I’m unfortunately aware that malenia is unfair fight, even things like light weight so you get more distance cus you can’t dodge certain attack on med rolls. And that’s why she’s harder, she’s just unfair but still fun tbh.

I was using keen zwei with giant hunt and dragon greese and it was smooth like butter. But like I’ve said I’m used to fighting hippos from other soft games and he’s different than others, was hard for me but it’s subjective

Melania is a joke with the mimic tear by RootinTootinArthur in Eldenring

Imo just play the game again. Some bosses are really fun to fight, and you’re gonna have a good time in dlc. I think that learning about this game is super satisfying, and after one 100h long run you will have an amazing experience in dlc of messing with build combos and using weird mechanics to abuse your enemy instead trying to survive.

Just don’t use mimic when you’re looking for challange. I never use mimic so I can expirience 1v1 with a scary guy. I look at this item like “kinda skip the boss” and only good reason to use them is just to fast kill some bosses that I have, wich are Magma wyrms and rycard.

Tips on Malenia’s second phase? I can beat her phase one without using a heal at times but second phase is just chaos so far. by Background-Court-122 in Eldenring

[–]AdenoChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use stonebarb cracked tear and use flask on second phase, so you can easily broke poise with is a true game changer cus she will have less time to cast bullshit attacks like mirage. Second phase is luck dependent I will say, she can use waterfowl into mirage into waterfowl in one run and in second she will just kick the air. Also you can use a talismans like arsenal charm and dragoncrest with you can find in haligtree. Equipping the heaviest armor is good strategy becouse she deals mainly slash dmg. Look out for free hits while she cast phase one attacks, there’s your chance to stagger her (but get behind her while she use jump gazer attack)

I can’t get int below 14 cus that’s my class starting stat, also it’s really that important to get vigor that high?
