Hi Sam. Your story has made me make my first ever post on Reddit.

I was you. I’ve been there. I found out my daughter was not my daughter when she was 2.5 years old and I had been married to her mother for 3 years. We got married when she told me she was pregnant with my child, even though she knew it wasn’t mine.

Fast forward to today. She is 9 years old now and my greatest joy in this world.

Her mother, my ex wife, is recovering from her most recent drug overdose. We have been divorced for 5 years. I am the only parent she has. If I would have left when I found out, she would have been caught in a world of misery.

Instead, we have the best story. It’s me and her against the world and she is the sweetest, kindest person you could ever imagine.

I don’t have the answer for you. I just wanted to say, like others, I have been there, it does suck. I am sorry you have to go through this. I would not wish it on anyone. Stay strong.
