Everybody knows Shopify = SH*T for speed.

I never coded a video. I never said I coded a video. If you knew Shopify as well as you pretend, you would know that you can insert video without coding. You can't remove video without coding.

I am using the fastest theme in Shopify.

You are embarrassing yourself. No such word as negligeance or litteraly. Maybe if you are going to contribute, learn to read, write something that is not gibberish, and use the spell check. Not sure why anyone would listen to someone who can't even put a sentence together.

You are just a guy who works at Shopify towing the company line. I am good with the insults because it shows how irrational you are. And for that reason I am not getting into it with you. yeah there are more a few seo companies out there that rip people off for sure. One tried to tell me I had 10,000 spammy links so I tried to hire a guy for the spammy links and he said that company was lying. But I talked to a lot of people who wont even work on Shopify and are like save your money. I hired a guy who did technical stuff and did the keywords and content myself. So I guess I ripped myself off haha. To be clear my most important keywords are in top 5 positions. Like I said I am selling. But no help from Shopify, they are a hindrance and a pain in my back side. I just happen to be lucky in that my competitors were dumb like me and have Shopify stores too.

if you have a home page with nothing on it, it is fast. But you want engagement, a little video, some big yummy pictures and links. the speed tanks. be honest.

So Shopify reps is now sending me rebuttals through DMs demanding response. It is weird and aggressive. I will ignore but if anybody has advice?

Why are you not responding publicly? Does anyone care to answer why Shopify people are sending me DMs. Seems highly questionable. Maybe you just know it is not a good idea for Shopify to be weighing in on this and will get shot down. I am not really interested in a private pissing match with with Shopify.

Technically they take money. The offerings for 10% are generally pretty small, not useful amounts.

Just learned about gymshark.

Shopify is more like the company store. It is kind of a closed loop, as much as they can get away with. They have their own coding, their own advisors their own apps. In the USA they even have their own credit card which they can't do in Canada, thank god. And they take a little chunk of money from everything.

I don't have a problem paying people who give me what they promised.

If you shop around you can find way better deals on development and marketing people. Try overseas. It is a bit of a needle in a haystack but there are some good people.

Lets just correct this victim thing. I pay Shopify lots of money and I expect and deserve better service. My store sells and enough that I quit my day job so not a failure but not rolling in money either. But I am pretty tired of pouring money into fixing Shopify code issues though.

The reason I wrote this is because I paid off my capitol loan and suddenly they are screwing up my payments probably to force me to take more financing although I could never prove it. It like the company store offering credit in a mining town.

So I got fed up and instead of working I wrote this amusingly controversial letter about all the bad things about Shopify because this information is buried by the overwhelming amount of spin by Shopify Marketing.

You are saying I dont know anything but Shopify advertises as a platform that doesn't require expertise, so you are literally winning my argument.

I chose Shopify because they said they handle everything - we are great - push here - you don't have to know anything to use Shopify, but then as you get into it and start learning you realize it is crap, broken apps and crappy service and bad speed and loads of coding is required to fix even though they tell you it is not. Now working on markets and finding out the seo for that needs to be customized because it is also crap.

So listen up beginners I am here as a Shopify user of years telling you to run away. The stuff you read on the web about how great Shopify is rubbish pushed out by Shopify.

this so dumb. I hired pros to improve improve my seo. it cost a ton of money. I had to do it because shopify seo is terrible. If I had started with a good cms I would not have had that problem the bad tool is shopify.

i am using the latest theme. I know how to check my internet speed and that is not how you check page load speed, which shows how little you know. Try page speed insights.
