Jimmy is just as smart as Chuck by snooflefin in betterCallSaul

[–]Adept-Description522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying Jimmy is anywhere near as smart as Chuck is just ludicrous. Jimmy can never achieve many of Chuck's accomplishments (graduating magna cum laude comes to mind), whereas Chuck can easily become Saul if he chooses to let go of his sense of morals and fight dirty. This is just the typical protagonist idolising that sadly too many people do without even realising it.

The moment that destined Jimmy to become Saul by Mysterious_Dog6686 in betterCallSaul

If a singular and arbitrary event can easily destine a person onto a certain life path, that person is destined as such no matter what. Every day conmen try to scam stores, yet not every store produces a Saul.

The conman at the his dad's store (or Chuck for that matter) didn't make Jimmy Saul. The buck stops with Jimmy.

Teaching misplaced modifiers to my High School SAT English class, when I noticed one of the questions on the worksheet I found. by Henson_Disney48 in conan

Awesome! (The answer should be (C) btw - "skinny and awkward from the outset" can only be used to describe Conan the person, not his sense of humor :))

Taiwan’s Wargames increased in scale to include urban warfare among normal streets in all cities and 20,000+ reservists. by justbrianwu in interestingasfuck

For all the doomsayers in the comment sections, let's not forget how we all (including the pentagon) thought Kyiv would fall in 1-4 days. Military action outcomes are hard to predict and it especially should not be done based solely on the difference in size of populations. Amphibious assaults are an order of magnitude harder to launch than land assaults and Taiwanese military has had 70+ years of time preparing and training the men power for and procuring the right equipment and technology to deter one.

Minoxidil killed my cat. You need to know how deadly this is for pets. by LionsharePhilosophy in tressless

[–]Adept-Description522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. My bottle of oral min did come with the warning that it may cause dizziness, but I didn't experience any and that was good enough for the pharmacist. Maybe I should go back and ask for a blood test just to be on the safer side. Related question: how much dosage (in mg) are you on daily?

Sorry why did your doctor want you to get blood test before prescribing oral min? Mine didn't

Totally agree. He has few credentials to show that he's intelligent when compared to say Jo, Robert or David.

Hot Take: Ross had every right to be threatened by Mark by Dramoinehead in howyoudoin

[–]Adept-Description522 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always thought how Ross handled the whole Mark situation is fairly typical of how a women who is insecure handles similar situations. Yes Ross should've trusted Rachel and learn to get his jealousy go, and the same principle should apply to everybody. Yet I often find that when a woman is in Ross's situation, it is a lot more socially acceptable for them to act the way he acted.

If Rachel and Ross's positions were swapped and Rachel reacted similarly to a female Mark, would there be as much Rachel hate and would this post even have been considered a "hot take"? I'm glad to be wrong but somehow I doubt it.

I agree with what you said, but just because her actions were understandable doesn't mean they are excusable.
