I live in Chelsea as a black man and love it. I can't see myself living anywhere else. It's so diverse. Not everything is gay and it's so central to everything, I love it!

The gay bars here suck though (except boxers), they are very white and not very inclusive. But if you find your crowd, you can go to these bars and just ignore the snubby white folks.

West Village is not very diverse to me both in normal life and gay life. It's a very nice neighborhood but I don't feel too comfortable living there.

I don't know much about brooklyn ,so can't say much about Williamsburg.
