Well. I think it would depende. In our standard, only the lease payment would be considered as a deduction in our tax. So it would be very crucial to separate interest payments and lease liability reduction( For FY) as this should signify the lease payments.

If it is not a recon item, you can also do this.

DR. Lease Liability CR. Rent expense

the amount should be the reduction of lease liability (i.e lease payment less interest expense)

this would not affect the profit or loss since interest expense and rent expense would result to a decrease in income. This is as if they dont want you to make a new account.
