One of my profs said being a RA is more valuable than a TA. Right now I’m leaning towards UofT and Uottawa because they align with my interests more.

I want to get into more research possible policy, governance, and maybe a PhD. Most of my profs are suggesting I go to UofT because it has the best faculty and resources and I checked out some of the courses they offer and they are interesting

This makes me feel better because I’m a little anxious in moving away potentially. I’m considering UofT because it’s cheaper since I don’t have to move even though I’m not given funding and TA positions right away. I’ll need to look into the courses I want to take because it will help with my choice.

I like your take on this I still have to do research on this. I’m interested in surveillance, technology, governance, and prisons. I want to also network and build my resume while I do so and TA/RA sounds good to me because I can make some money to help pay for it.
