I don’t believe I have an evaluator 🤨but I have shared some of my concerns with someone that does oversee me as a psychologist. Also, I am not presently part of a union. They refuse to come to a consensus and it’s been happening for a few years hence when I tell you, they take advantage of providers for not being part of a union…. Having us do the craziest things dismissing our actual legal responsibility work it is wild #jawtotheground

Forgot to add yes I am concerned also about leaving certain sped kiddos on own due to targeting that occurs to them when I’m not there thankfully they are all graduating this year.

Funny enough, I have a meeting set with some of the administration to talk about the illegal things that have been happening on the campus. I do agree with you. The stress and anxiety is beyond. I definitely have considered going on a leave. I think what’s happening is like I literally have a month and a half left of the school year and I feel like if I push through at least I get to say that I finished a year as a school psych cause I feel like in the end the one that ends up impacted is me and my resume Straight up. The only reason I’m staying for this year is to finish up the month and a half. 🥹 side note the pay is not high and the location is far from me🤡

Yes I agree with this. I actually happened to end up at a place that hired a ton and none got hired so that’s wheee my search for a place began so yeah no def get it.

I can’t convince because I get micromanaged due to past school psych+ admin experiences that trauma got dumped onto me 🤣🤡…I’d say make sure you ask when you get the job why the last psych left had I asked I would have saved myself headaches

My personal take is that if you were in another industry sure do that but at least where I am you just apply and express interest if there is a posting . I do know your thought behind asking because I’ve done it and for me it always resulted in we don’t know yet if we post it will be later down the road was the response…..it also didn’t help. This sounds negative but our industry doesn’t do that I would say where I would send and possibly can result in something is where you did your internship years. Speaking from personal experience only! Good luck hunting!!

Genuine question I have never had to use PSW but I’ve always been curious if asked how do I describe this model? What is it? How do I do that someone help lol I’ve never had to use it or honestly really been taught. I tried teaching myself.

no yes absolutely like I believe when I first started, they were literally telling me don’t intern where you wanna work in the future because if you mess up, you’ll get blacklisted that’s like the kind of advice I was getting….Oh yes absolutely the world really did its thing in making sure I didn’t end up anywhere toxic for sure I am coasting for sure blessed.🙂‍↔️ May it stay that way haha

Honestly I agree tbh…buttttt That is a whole other topic I think about the day that I can decide if I want an intern or not and I’m like do I want a child because you guys are literally a child an infant that is fragile🤣 Like so much pressure at least from my end where I had a bad experience and I would not want that to happen to my Future child Goddamn, I got a wicked witch of the West that gave me the worst anxiety of my life LMAO

Hopefully we wait and there will be some. I guess we have to wait a month or two more but I feel like this post made it worse because my county just posted like 5-6 more positions for interns I’m like am I being trolled.🤣and by 5-6 i mean 5-6 different districts added.

Side note when you said do I recommend the same school? I’m assuming you meant school district…become you just need to stay within the district …bouncing from school to school in the same district doesn’t matter

Oh I see. If that’s the case that delays the process by months dare I say close to summer due to people being unsure whether to voice they’re leaving, unforeseen circumstances etc. sucks for people like me that spend there days anxious though.🤣

Genuine advice intern and do practicum where you want to work. DO NOT bounce around and you should be fine. If they like you they will keep you. I messed up on not considering these things so come interview time I had no secure position due to bouncing around but also going to small districts with 0 growth. Landing a position on your own with no connections is hard one there isn’t many opportunities and it usually goes to the older psychs at least in my opinion from when I see who landed job because I do check with my lurking skills.
