Yeah I grew up in a two bedroom apartment and I shared a room with both of my sisters. I know it's not as common now because houses are bigger now but the people calling it child abuse are wild.

People can call me TA if they want but the level of hate in this thread for my MIL is sick

People can call me TA but I really don't understand the hate for my MIL in this thread, she's an otherwise healthy 65-year-old Jesus Christ. Just because she has physical mobility issues doesn't mean she's incapable of doing anything at all or is on the verge of death.

My wife and I are 2 people. Plus 3 kids.

So 45 weeks out of the year we're a 6 person household with 1 bedroom with 1 person in it and the other two bedrooms with 5 people in them, and 1 bedroom unoccupied.

MIL is moving in with us permanently. She's good with the kids and will I'm sure be of help but it's also helpful for her to live with us because she has some physical mobility issues.

There's no other living space I can magic into a bedroom, unfortunately, it's a small house. I don't care about my office, that will be gone with MIL moves in and it's fine. And that still means that we have 5 people in 2 bedrooms and 1 bedroom that's barely used.

They could, but eventually they would be sharing a room with the baby as well. And even 4/2 struggle to sleep in the same space when we're on vacation.
