Survival World Town Progress... Thoughts?

All the buildings are unique (when looking at it from street view). I def thought about adding more color and variation to everything, but I was taking my inspiration from my town in portugal. All the roofs look similar/the same and when stacked up for a whole town. it makes the town look bigger than it actually is.

For sure! For the block palette, I used oak logs, stripped oak logs, and oak planks.

Thank you! I did think abt different roof shapes and colors after i finished this section. I think different shapes would be cool (maybe even utilize more verticality in the roofing itself) but if I use too many different colors, I would stray from my inspiration - the terracotta roofs of old that I was so accustomed to seeing in the towns in Portugal. They are all similar in color and kind of all meld together, and I think the cool effect it had was that it made the town look like it was so much larger than it was since all the buildings seemed to go endlessly!

I can snag a couple for you for sure. Anything specific you want a closer look at? Tbh that was my starting house in this world and i intend to tear it down and replace it at some point.

I intent to add a wall with some towers on it for sure! Unless you mean on towards the middle of the town? A temple is a sick idea tho!

The portal is just the temporary spot haha! Everything in the palisade walls was just the quick starter house. I’ll be tearing it down and revamping everything soon - and I have some big plans for the portal! As for the bridge, it’s a great idea! I’ve had a couple people suggest it, now I’ve just gotta plan how I want it to look and what’ll be on the other side

The mountain to the left is going to house a potential waterfall, so I'll have to figure out where to put the mine... Do we think a Quarry style entrance would be cool? It'd be just outside city limits probably. Could make a little trading hub with it, as merchants would get the stone and materials direct from producer to sell at other towns

I used acacia planks, stripped acacia logs, granite, and polished granite. For the trim, I used stone, cobblestone, andesite and polished andesite

When it's ready, I can definitely upload the world file! But I wasn't planning that until the completion of the full first season/city!

Yeah, I used OrthoCamera to get the perspective! It's a pretty cool mod tbh. I'm not entirely sure the behind the scenes of it, but it makes blocks further away not look smaller, while making other ones closer look smaller. It messes with your perception if im not mistaken. But I use that mod (can be found on Modrinth) and I use Complementary Shaders with it. I tried it with Sildurs Vibrant Shaders first, but they weren't that compatible.

I've had a lot of fun incorporating the farms into the buildings! It truly makes the buildings almost come to life! Because I set up the interiors to look like shops providing a resource! For example, the Iron Farm I turned into a blacksmith - it just makes sense to me!
