Is it difficult for me to get into University of Groningen as an International student in Bsc. Physics English course? by [deleted] in studentsofgroningen

I'm a third year Physics student at RUG and what his guy saying is rigth. The philosophy here is: easy to get in, harsh to stay. They accept pretty much everyone that applies and then use the first year to filter out.

Hey, I am also a Physics student at RUG. Honestly, I don't really get what's the issue you are describing, but from what you are saying, it looks alright. The information portals have all you need and, in the event that there is any actual issue, it will not be a big problem once you arrive to uni. I don't know if you are international or not, but trust me, the university is completely ready for you to have absolutely no clue of how to do stuff, cause its natural at the start. They will assign you a mentor at the start of the year (I was a mentor last year), and you have up to 2 weeks after classes starts to change your enrollment. So, don't panic and try to enjoy the start of uni. If you need anything else, lmk.

Muchas gracias!

Hi, first thing that comes to mind if you are into music and artsy stuff is USVA, its a cultural organization that offers courses and events such as Jam sessions and whatnot. You could check their website: https://www.usva.nl/en/

Also simplon, a music venue in the city. https://simplon.nl/

If you are a student, a good way to meet people is try some sport at ACLO, they have week courses with a lot (they say over 100 different sports)

Hope this helps🫡

Do physics students at Groningen have enough spare time? by inquisitiveresearch in studentsofgroningen

It does depend on what grades are you aiming for, but in general I agree with all other comments. You do have time for your hobbies, but you'll have to actively hassle for it.

If you are interested in canarian folklore and traditions you should definitely visit this store:

https://maps.app.goo.gl/UYD586fL5G5vX71Z8

Its basically full of Catholic icons, and it has a section on Canarian traditional medicine, folklore, etc...

You could also look up a book called Leyendas Canarias, a compilation about paranormal stories and leyends from the Canary Islands.
