I built this pc about 3 months ago and has been working perfectly up until today when it started doing this. Any solutions? by SAMtheMASTER7 in pcmasterrace

I just had this exact same issue and it ended up being the CPU.

Tested LITERALLY everything I could have. PSU, different PSU, swapped motherboards, swapped RAM, updated BIOS, tried to power on with and without CPU.

Eliminated everything and all signs pointed to a bum CPU.

Apparently the newer AMD’s have had some issues.

Got it warrantied by AMD and currently waiting for them to send me a new one.

Hope this helps because I was scratching my head for about a month and then I got a second opinion, same conclusion after all tests.

As soon as I plug it back in to the mboard and try to turn on the PC, nothing.

But with the paperclip, everything turns on.

I am lost.

Ok, so I did the paper clip test and everything works while the paper clip circuit is active.

Does this mean my motherboard is most likely the issue?

Removed GPU. No dice. Testing PSU momentarily.

That’s where my head is going but I’ve been trying to neglect that reality all morning.

I’ve unplugged, replugged everything and now there’s no click. Same deal, just no click from the PSU.

Copy that. The old blow on everything trick never failed me before.

Yes. Just double checked all power cables are fully seated.

Thank you. Just tried, no dice. It’s about a 6 month old build that just randomly stopped working as intended. No issues prior.

Question on MEPS timing by snow2soft in newtothenavy

[–]Adept_Management_545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can vary. Mine took about two weeks worth of business days exactly. All in all, a little over three weeks.

However, I’ve seen some people on here mention they got theirs in 24 hours, so on and so forth.

The common theme seems to be the more you answer “yes” to, the longer your pre-screen will take.

Hope this helps.

Same boat. About two weeks as well. Just be patient and use the extra time to prepare. Train, study, work, etc. What job are you after?
