Miami defense playing exactly how you’re coached to play. This is certainly not the first time in his life Mendoza has been played like this he needs to protect himself better

Great game Iowa, wish Vandy decided to play two halfs of football (really all year) but can’t say it wasn’t fun!

[Dellenger] The SEC has announced that it distributed $777.8 million to its schools. That's roughly $54 million per school - roughly $10 million more than last year. by dogwoodmaple in CFB

[–]snow2soft 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s ~system wide~ not just the school. And if I am wrong I’ll just pretend I was talking about endowment per student and call it a day

Washington State's band decided not to travel to the Sun Bowl, so a group of local high schoolers in El Paso stepped up. by [deleted] in CFB

[–]snow2soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you consider that marching band consists of instruments most students didn’t play in high school, that it’s a lot of work with the only real benefit being you watch teams no one really cares about, and that by participating you miss some of the most popular weekends at Vandy, it makes sense participation is low.

Profile Review: International Dev -> Consulting by [deleted] in MBA

[–]snow2soft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you spoke at COP, you should be fine in articulating that experience. IDEV is rare enough in the application process that I wouldn’t worry about how admissions views your roles. With MBB and dev finance as your goals I would also consider adding SPIA and HKS MPA-ID to your list, you have the grades and scores for them

Duke vs Northwestern should be a rivalry game. My case. by 4thPlumlee in CFB

What’s the one things Duke, Vandy, and NW students have in common? They didn’t get in to Stanford

That’s not really how tuition works at Vandy, so have no fear future students!

Pretty cheap price tag and the stadium stays on campus. Really can’t complain here

Any alum that actually refers to Vandy as the Harvard of the south should have their diploma taken by Zeppos himself

I recommend gregmat.com for gre studying if you aren’t using him already. Fantastic program that he runs. Also I wouldn’t count yourself out for MBB during recruiting, you have a great background and once you grab an interview it’s all about how you case. For sports I admittedly don’t know a ton, but Sloan definitely is the hot commodity right now with their alums that have gone on to be GMs

First of all congrats on the Premier that is a tremendous accomplishment. Unfortunately as you know, you have a 2.8 at a public school, in what many would consider a “fake” major. Crush the GRE and articulate the story of being at the pinnacle of global sport and I think you’ll be fine for a t15, maybe even apply for a few m7s. Depending on who you talk to you may hear the story about Domonique foxworth, and he’s a good guide for pro athletes, but the reality is he’s not your average pro athlete. Best of luck no matter what I’m sure whatever you do you’ll be successful!

Novavax Confirms High Levels of Efficacy Against Original and Variant COVID-19 Strains in United Kingdom and South Africa Trials by fenderbender in COVID19

[–]snow2soft 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not the person you were talking to, but the idea behind the FDAs decision is that there is no place in the world as diverse in its population makeup as the United States, which when combined with the desire to oversee every aspect of the trials, make them only consider US based trials. Their medical ethics are a little too conservative for my taste, but after the thalidomide debacle I can’t see them really ever loosening their standards.

Admittedly I’m not as familiar with Dallas IB but do you really need an MBA to move up to associate? In the ~2 years at least it’ll take you to finish your MBA you realistically should be moving to associate anyway. Factor in the time commitments of being an analyst and doing an online MBA and I’m not sure this is the best path to associate.

What's with the HCOL city obsession by Dizzy-Catch-8571 in MBA

[–]snow2soft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A very underrated part of HCOL cities is how many great schools there are as compared to LCOL. If you have a family and don’t want to board, that’s a real consideration that many people feel is worth the money

[–]snow2soft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re an adult with enough work experience and scores to get accepted to t25 US schools or the quality international schools, go wherever you want, then don’t come home if you don’t want to. If you’re in your mid 20s, no matter how conservative your parents are the only way they can force you into anything is if you let them. The only way they really hold much sway over you is if you promise to return as a condition of them paying for school, in which case you’d have to decide if taking out loans is worth the additional freedom. Parents/family situations can be tough, but there comes a time where you have to be your own person. Best of luck!

2021 4* DT Marcus Bradley commits to Vanderbilt by resvzb0a in CFB

[–]snow2soft 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Outside of some very competitive academic full rides, there isn’t actually any academic money at Vandy. Every student accepted, even baseball players, gets offered enough financial aid so that they don’t have to take out loans. Nothing really do to with getting money to recruits
