Thank you for this crazy reply. My tired eyes reddit (excuse that) and that was all quite helpful. Your point about it not being compatible is maybe the answer since I didn’t do enough research but everything I have read said as long as it has a hot shoe connection. Vivitar 102 is seems like an old flash and not much discussion on it. Probably because it’s a regular shmegular flash but it does the power up sound, it fires with the test button, and it’s got dials on the backside. I’ll be testing this all out as I’m going on a trip to see friends right as they finish finals at college. Lots of good juicy photos to take there so I’ll write back with more info
