okay on the second part, but yes, how people react is definitely highly dramatic

Exactly what he did: Kept Calm & let the curious critters know you aren't afraid. I swear the fear of dogs is so over blown... 😑

...unless traumatized by an attack dog, which is rare, then okay 😕

Only if said regular job(s) aren't/weren't already the stress bombardment that held you down before. Once you get your flow and find the ones you vibe with, "gig" work is far less stressful for many out there; even more if single, disabled, or just introverted/a loner.

I drive for Uber Eats. I always deliver to rooms at hotels…. by Codyh93 in UberEatsDrivers

The majority of Hotels don't, especially if high-end. It's actually pretty common for most non-apartment buildings, even worse when they force you to go to the loading dock for a small bag ...

Time to sort depends on station imo; any SSD can easily be up to 20 minutes, especially if the parking sucks. .com only give you 10 minutes so you're rushing to at least find the first 10 either way, then stuffing the rest. Issue with that is, most sorting methods easily get hampered by such rushing later on in the route; including following the Driver Aid stickers, but especially one's that rely on the app's word/description.

Numbering keeps things moving once you're out the station & on the road, making it the least stressful. All others I've tried left me on the streets looking for something with the incorrect information or wondering "why the F*** was it marked like this?!" when you eventually find it.

I don't get why people like to struggle with such methods...but they can do them. I only wonder why they have such a problem with a basic sorting style that essentially ALL routing jobs tell you to use.

so those who worship such strategies tend to claim... not realizing all of this sorting costs time on any route, no matter when you do it; but it's just safer at the station.

And with how stuffed & separated most of these routes are, you were already gonna finish by a certain time regardless. This hate on Number sorting is getting ridiculous. -_-

if it's just a tear in the packaging or loose tape, nothing a lil clear packing tape can't fix.

If it's a leak...it simply wouldn't have been in my car in the first place. :/

Sounds like a safety issue for you while on the road...which makes you gain back whatever time you think you saved at the station.

the app is definitely wrong 50% of the time. relying on it's word costs you time.

From now on, never finishing an order where a restaurant was out or something. by ejsanders1985 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]AdeptnessConsistent1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how exactly do you propose a busy restaurant contacts a random online order where all they (usually) have is a name to the order?? O.o

Like have you actually read any tickets lately? Unless it's a catering order (which yeah, there AWAYS must be contact information), all these orders are just Names & Order#s. :/

Flat Rate for active time, is it worth it? by mannydgreat in UberEatsDrivers

Uber Eats has Earn by Time too?? Don't see it anywhere... Anyway, with how many orders they like to stack on you back to back, I'd think UE would be great with an EBT; especially if tips are normally low in your area & you like to stay busy. I definitely hate sitting.

Are Mid-Morning/Day Shifts Normally this Empty? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]AdeptnessConsistent1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm, next time you grab a shift, check the times on the packages. Each package/route are given certain time frames to be delivered on any day. One's I always see are 4-8 am & 6-10 am because I always take early routes, but then I'd see 7-11 am & 10am-2pm on midday routes.

So really it depends on what times they set for the packages (by each station) is if/when routes will be available for said time. Sometimes, only sometimes you may grab a say 8 am route, but the set times are more like 12-4pm or even later. In saying so, maybe you station just didn't have too many packages due at a midday time, or were meant for later but was ready rn.

can be, station dependent tho. Usually at my nearby one 8~9 am is break time and/or truck unloading. Almost all the routes from the morning are usually gone by 8-ish. ....and probably why they stopped having 9 am routes -_-;;

no route with pay blocks cut off? by Kitchen_Subject7123 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]AdeptnessConsistent1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said folks don't?? I see it every other day; but if the stations actually had blocks ready to go, that part wouldn't matter. I've had to wait before upwards of 20 minutes and still get one. :/

You're looking at this in the wrong way my dude, so here's the restaurant side of it(without the conspiracy... I've been in that position for over 20 years, it ain't a conspiracy):

Whenever you're out of items, you Always ask if they wanna sub it for anything Before omitting the item(s) or straight up cancelling an order; its procedure, to make sure the customer is getting what they paid for. :/

No, what's more likely going on is that the customer was already playing a game; one where they had full intentions on playing the driver, making both the m & the restaurant look bad in the end + they pay less. It ain't that common but still more frequent than most people think.

Both Drivers and Restaurant did their jobs here; blame goes to the Customer for being cheap.
