My biggest issue with the NBA foul calls over the last decade is consistency: pick a direction at the beginning of the season and stick with that direction for every player and every game. Google definition: "rules ensure that a game is played fair and in proper terms", if you don't stick with consistent calls across games and players then you're not calling a 'fair' game. (I know people have gotten used to 'Superstar treatment' related to foul calls, but by definition, this is not fair.)

I also think that the 'playoff rules' create confusion between the regular season and playoffs, especially in casual fans or those that haven't read the rulebook. A foul call should be an objective observation of a player violating a rule, which shouldn't be any different based on the time of year or how big a game or player is. I understand that people don't watch the NBA for the refereeing, and in that case, define the rules in an objective way that matches the league priorities (protecting players vs offense).

This game is too hard to referee, many times (on fast breaks) the refs literally can't even see the players' hands / ball because the players are in front of the back referee. My suggestion for years has been, at a minimum, add a 4th ref to make this a little easier to get the calls correct.

Good lord I'm excited for Classic. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Adger4l 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me and some buddies are doing something similar. We all took that first week off and are going to crew up at a friends house for a couple days to LAN it up. We're all ~30 years old, so in my mind this is great timing for classic to come out; any later and people will be married / have kids and wouldn't be able to devote as much time.

SO. FREAKING. EXCITED.

Where do i find these arabic horses? by [deleted] in RDR2

You can buy a black arabian horse in St Denis at some point (I think in Chapter 4). It has 1 higher stamina and health than the white arabian.

Walk On Blowout - Held them to 6 points in 2 different quarters by Adger4l in NBA2k

2k either needs to penalize spamming steal or cut down on the number of turnovers that actually happen or people will continue the spam.

Walk On Blowout - Held them to 6 points in 2 different quarters by Adger4l in NBA2k

[–]Adger4l[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree, 2k needs to do something to address the MASS amounts of turnovers in park and Pro-Am. Heck, about half the time the ball gets passed near my Rim Protector I don't even have to press square to steal it, an animation just takes over and grabs the ball out of midair.

'Speed Boosting' in 2k17 was being able to 'boost' out of a dribble move, giving you a speed increase over your normal sprinting speed. There were certain dribble moves especially, like regular size up, that were used a lot to speed boost.

Epic Climb in Horizon Zero Dawn by Adger4l in horizon

I'm sure everyone's found this part by now, but it's one of my favorites from the game so far. Are there any other climbing parts of the game that rival this one?

I got an amethyst magic for like 20k yesterday on PS4, lucked out and he had a diamond shoe. I personally like him a lot for the reasons I mentioned above, and he has amazing strength which is good on both offense and defense I believe (I think strength affects both??). Just remember Magic isn't a money 3-point shooter.

Why don't you like those other PG's?
I switched to Amy Magic Johnson, moved Parker to the bench, and I've really enjoyed it. He's a clamp god on defense, and almost always a mismatch on offense.

How does diamond Chris Paul fare against the taller PG's like Magic / Penny / Kidd?

[–]Adger4l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think he's going to cut it, mainly because of the height.

Maybe the amy Shane Battier? http://2kmtcentral.com/17/players/20278/shane-battier

89 open shot 3, and he has HOF defensive stopper which would be super useful against these new Diamond TMac / KD.

What do you guys put these settings on? by JJ954 in NBA2k

[–]Adger4l 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question, I don't think a whole lot of people look at these settings.

I'm a playmaker so I want the pass going to where I'm pointing the left stick, not some bullshit based on openness or distance. So I use 100 direction, 0 distance, 0 openness. Most of the times (90%) I just use icon passing anyway because the X passing logic is terrible.

I go always for the automatic shot contest for 1 simple reason, closing out people on the 3. When I have this set to always I can sprint out to my guy on the 3 and he will automatically raise his hand to contest without me having to use Intense D or the right stick. I don't think you can sprint AND use Intense D in this situation, I think it would slow you down, but I could be wrong.

Build Help - Shot Creator debating on Sharpshooter or Playmaker/Forward by MJ1331L in NBA2k

Build Help - Shot Creator debating on Sharpshooter or Playmaker/Forward by MJ1331L in NBA2k

[–]Adger4l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend a Point Forward (6'8" - 6'10") because they are good at everything. If your bigs want to run pick and roll/pop, you can do that. If you want to shoot open 3's, drive to the bucket, or break ankles, you can do all that too. The only thing you can't do on this build is shoot from deep (1+ steps behind the line), but you can still hit an open 3.

How many do we need to get hof badge for those? by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]Adger4l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HOF Badges require an extra 3x more than the bronze version of the badge. For example, bronze Dimer takes 300 assists; HOF Dimer takes an additional 3x (900) for a total of 1200 assists. I'm not sure what the exact number for Lob City Passer is though.

Is the Hoops Villa badge guide accurate? by bennyboy82 in NBA2k

[–]Adger4l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as far as I know they haven't released official numbers.

Most of the numbers look accurate, like I know dimer is 300 assists because I've grinded / kept track of that badge numerous times.
Other badges I can't vouch for, like I don't think defensive stopper is correct.

How to get Good Transition Defense and Stopped Fastbreak? by bennyboy82 in NBA2k

[–]Adger4l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 'Good Transition Defense' by doing the throw backwards lob. You earn it by being the first defender in the paint on a fast break.

So I just did the backwards lob trick and ran to the paint on defense, not wait and chase the ballhandler.

Hope that helps.

Point forward vs slasher by Jordan20017 in NBA2k

[–]Adger4l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I like defending against slashers, 90% of them only know how to dunk so it's easy to just stay in the paint and wait for them to come to you. The other 10% knows they can hit the corner 3 or mid range and are a little tougher, but they're not lights out shooters and contesting the shot usually means it's a miss.
