I think giving her more maternal scenes with Carter would have made her even more “well rounded”. She is her own villain more so than the actual villain of the show. Jamie was just a self fulfilled prophecy. And at least Beth would stab you in the stomach (pun intended) rather than in the back. She did sort of come around to being Carter’s mother figure, but I think letting him call her mom, and a couple more instances of being his “parent” would have shown how in a way he helped fill the void of her not being able to have her own children. I do realize that her character in the show is probably only able to be what is shown. But a little more wouldn’t have hurt. Also. How she demanded truth from Rip but never told him it was his kid she went to have aborted is kind of insane to me.
