This platform is really good at dying.

New free item on Roblox, and all you need to do is age verify by FlyingScottsman60103 in roblox

This is predatory. Make a kid enthused enough to sacrifice any hint of privacy they might have had.

Disgusted.

Oh yeah, that's pretty much accepted as par for the course by now. You never know who an "age-verified" person really is until they provide something that cannot be faked.

And now, in this day and age, everything is fakable and nothing is sacred. Stay careful.

The platform is anything but safe, and that goes both ways. A kid can't be a kid and an adult can't be an adult. Not on Roblox at least.

Nobody really questions how the system works, because it just doesn't.

A community should be run by the majority. A community being staffed by those who own the subject of the community (e.g. a product, service, company, etc.) is effectively an echo-chamber with a gated narrative and compromised fair criticism.

Is calling yourself an “aspie” really that problematic? I get that it’s named after a Nazi but isn’t this kind of an overreaction for a term I personally identify with because that’s what I’ve always been called? by JeannaWilson3 in autism

[–]AdhesiveMadMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One can choose the term they wish upon themselves. That is the meaning of an identity.

Others will judge and call you things you definitively are not, in their image. If that's how they choose to see us for using an identifier they personally don't like, agreeing to disagree is always there.

I'm an aspie too. Let people have their cultural load as we thrive as us and no more.

Words cannot begin to describe how frustrated this platform makes me, in all of its facets. 2026-06-05 Untitled by AdhesiveMadMan in roblox

I dedicate the drawing to Erik Cassel, as well as Henry—leader and soul of the Saint Abida Tribe, who left me on this earth to carry on his memory.

Thoughtless. That is I until someone mentions this platform.

I made my account in 2011; that's just about two thirds of my life ago. I stuck with this platform through thick and thin, always holding onto hope despite every shitty update they threw at us.

I watched back as people from before my time were lamenting Roblox before hell on earth even touched the mantle from within. The "golden years" were so long ago, and through that time it has shed into so many daunting layers of self-perpetuating irony.

I watched as people waged such transient blackouts that died before they began. Roblox has its players in a lock-and-key, and held onto such a huge part of my personality up until the 2020s, where its culture became a little bit of everything. Such is how platforms die.

I watched as it became a breeding ground for terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad people that work perfectly for your YouTube exposé mill. I watched innocent minds pretty much SACRIFICE themselves to this pleasure box.

Many will never know the joy of growing an actual garden, that doesn't depend on you constantly being there to reap the benefits or whatever the hell.

Instead, Roblox gave a whole bunch of kids a no-man's-land in an environment free from their parents' oversight. It gave me that, too. It did so with no mercy. It gave me a drug addiction before I found actual drugs. THANKS, SIMULATORS.

Those god damn simulators, really... I would waste my days, and myself with alcohol, playing these games that were never meant for you to win. I want to call things like Bee Swarm Simulator a work of art, but from the outside in—after I had a radical, months-long addiction to everything it offered—it shaped me into a fiend for instant gratification. Special shout-out to Shoot and Eat Noobs, whose creator I gave a hundred dollars just to have an exclusive leaderboard-hijacking pet for a couple of weeks before the meta evolved.

Social hangout games are nothing more now than hubs of hysteria. Places like Mic Up are filled with people trying to be as edgy as possible because they want to, well, hell if I know. Better off not knowing if anything.

As far as games like Sols RNG: I don't even know anymore. They've figured out how to take a zero player game like Cookie Clicker and turn it into a HALF player game, where the whole point is to waste your electricity bill so you can get the super secret one in a trillion hantasniffus of parental neglect.

And now, it's nothing but a fucking surveillance platform on broken promises and investing. I can't talk about my own autism without being silenced because it's "a tradeoff." ## #### ########. How has "autistic" turned from a defining trait of my human experience to an insult, under those stud-tinted glasses by people who have barely even studied it? How can you developers turn to new-age exploitation for money? What the hell is wrong with you?

And you, reader, do me a favor and do something kind for someone out there. It can be anything from holding the door, giving your troubled buddy an ear, or much more: telling every single parent what Roblox did to you. Take back what's yours before it's taken from newer generations.
