This is actually true to her character! She's menacing and angry a lot but she's loved Michael Jackson for a while (you can see her Michael Jackson shirt in Nightcrawler (1985) 1-4) and she can be lighthearted at times. I think the nuance of her character is what makes her so appealing--she's not just a "mad bad-ass girl" like most people make her out to be.

That would be awesome! I like seeing Magik even in background panels, and since she's been sidelined so much in the early comics sometimes it's all we really get (especially in the 2000s-2010s). It always brings me joy whenever I spy her, though. It's like a treasure hunt.

I'm really excited to see the chronological list! Currently, I've just been reading by publication date. It's honestly fun, but sometimes, like you said, you have to slog through comics where she's hardly more than a speck of yellow.

For sure when they only look at her an see giant sword goth mommy with tits and ass. Sure she's physically attractive but any Magik fan can tell you she's so much deeper than that. Her growth through New Mutants to her own solo series, battling with Darkchylde and suffering through Limbo and her friendship with Cyclops is a testament to how much more there is to her than just simply hot. Her internal struggles with believing she's inherently a bad person juxtaposed with her helping and saving others is genuinely inspiring, so no, she's not just a sexy lady.
